Bosch for dishwashers, Miele for clothes washers.

Totally agree with EE. I had both. I don't know quite why, but I hated the dishwasher. I had a Bosch for 14 years previously and loved it. The Miele didn't seem as roomy or efficient. Another point to mention is that Mieles come with this box thing on the water pipe, and getting two through a small cut-out in the kitchen cupboard was not an easy task. I now have a Bosch dishwasher again, and me and it are so very happy together :)

I recently bought a Beko and I can't fault it at all. Just realised its increased in price though. Was £30 cheaper before Easter!

I'm no expert on the bottom end of the appliance marked, but I don't think you are right. Whirlpool doesn't have anything to do with the Indesit Group. Indesit Group is owned by one of the Merloni brothers I believe and the other Merloni brother owns the Candy Hoover group. But as I say I'm not an expert on this end of the market.
    Whirlpool bought Indesit last December.

I too have been happy with all of my Beko appliances, I would never touch an Indesit ever again though

That's like choosing between a poke in the eye or a punch on the nose! ;)

That 'box' thing is a watersafe device and how standard fit on all quality washing machines and dishwashers.

Its a flow meter and it measures how much water enters the pipe and then another meter in the machine measures how much has gone into the machine. If there was a tear in the pipe, the 'box' would cut off water supply preventing a flood. Its a very useful thing.
