Today was a good day. Work went quickly and now it's the weekend. I can also officially announce that today was the first NSD of the week :j
I have already made progress towards this weeks list as well. At lunchtime I sat and read my book and am nearly half way through. I'm really enjoying it and hopefully will find enough time to finish it this week. I also made a homemade crumble for pudding tonight. There were two pears looking a bit sorry for themselves in the fruit bowl and whereas the old me would have binned them the new me used them up instead and so a lovely pear crumble had just been devoured
Off out into the garden now and then back in for a lazy sofa evening.
Have a great Friday evening

I seem to have gotten off to a cracking start this morning.
Weekly shop done for £30 although due to a huge telephone bill this month (the calls have been necessary unfortunately) that's all we had to spend anyway. Lots of yellow sticker bargains and lots of fruit and veg. Really pleased I managed to do it because I really thought it was going to be a tough one this week. So that's another item ticked of my weekly goals list.
I then came home and activated my new 0% interest credit card and cancelled the old one. It was very satisfying shredding and binning it
The rest of the day will be spent doing housework, it's Spag Bol for tea and then off out with the girls for a very cheap night.
Have a great Saturday

This morning, after last nights party time, I am completely knackered. Lots of coffee will definitely be required today :coffee: I had a really good night though and I only spent £7.20.
Today's plans are
A day out with friends which I will be keeping as cheap as possible
A roast for tea
Baking a cake
A big ironing pile. I have neglected my flylady duties this wek but will get back on track tomorrow.
Just going to check the banks accounts now and do a few calculations to see if I can do another little overpayment to the credit card this morning. I'll report back if I can and let you know how much

And another £4 paid to the credit card :TSPC9 #5070

Hi Daisy, just popping over from my diary :hello:.
Well done on the overpayments, it's amazing how quickly they add up, just by bank skimming each week, I've now paid £100 more to the cc.
I also look out for yellow sticker bargains but never seem to have much luck. They are only ever reduced by 15-20p which I find is not worth it, especially if it's fruit and I want it to keep for a few more days. What's the best bargain you've had?
You are also doing really well with your nsd's, I find it almost impossible to have one of these with the kids, maybe if I allocated an after school fund, then I would have the money already waiting for them and I could achieve my 1st one.
I hope your cake turned out better than mine today, I attempted the 90 second microwave cake, let's just say it looked more like scrambled egg .Emergency Fund £0/£500
£365 in 365 Days #18 £520/£520
£2.00 Savers Club 2017 #11 £300/£3000 -
Hi there Chocoholicqueen and thanks for popping by :hello:
Sorry to hear about your cake. I've never tried a microwave cake but maybe I should give it a try. When I bake it's usually a bit hit and miss as to what I end up with but today's Victoria sponge actually went okay. It can't have been that bad or else the OH wouldn't have eaten half of it already!!! It was meant to be for lunchboxes this week but I can see it'll all be gone by tomorrow.
Don't be disheartened about NSDs. As long as your diary is helping you take note of your needs/wants when it comes to spending than that in itself is a good thing. I suppose it might be easier for me as I don't have children.
Yellow stickers - I guess my best bargains are when I pick up the 9p bread when I do my grocery shopping in the evenings just before closing time at the supermarket. I have to be careful not to get carried away and pick up too many or else I end up with a freezer full of bread.
Other news today. Had a lovely day out with friends. The fuel was already in the car and the whole day out including parking and lunch came to £11. OH drove meaning that I've had a no fuel day
. Came home and did some gardening in the sunshine, then cooked a roast and then tacked the leaning tower of ironing. It's been a busy day but all good fun. I just can't believe it's Sunday evening already.
Off to bed for me now. Have a good week

Yesterdy was a good day and although it wasn't an NSD I only spent £3.30 and £2.30 of that was on budgeted transport costs.
I have been continuing with my weekly goals list too especially cooking from scratch. Tonight on the menu is homemade pizza and chips. Still reading my book aswell.
I'm also being a flylady again this week and trying to get back to a clean and tidy house before the weekend. In fact I'm going to swing by there in a moment and check today's list. It is difficult to fit it all in when you're out the house for 10 hours a day but I do prefer to get it all done and not leave it until the weekend.
I am hoping that today will be n NSD which will be my second of the week but we'll see.SPC9 #5070 -
Well I'm pleased to report that today was an NSD which is my second of the week. I'm hoping I can make it another one tomorrow which will mean I will reach my weekly goal :T
My credit card statement came through today for CC2 so need to pay the minimum payment when I get paid next week I'm trying to reduce CC1 first as it has the higher balance and this I the one I am throwing all the little extra payments at.
Not much else has gone on today to talk about. I'm just in that period between paydays and this must be the first month since I can remember that I am excited about getting paid so I can reduce my credit rather than spending my money on rubbish. If I'm completely honest I'm quite enjoying my new frugal lifestyle.
I'm off now for my cup of tea and book. Enjoy your evening

I finally reached my NSD target for the week :j. It's only taken me 3 weeks of trying to achieve it! I'm hoping to reach my no fuel day target aswell this week and I might be able to do that tomorrow
