Daisy's Positivity Diary

Hello all and welcome to Daisy's Positivity Diary, a place where I can record my goals and achievements of paying off my debt (could be a long process) and finally get out of the cycle of payday to payday living.
A little bit it about me. I am in my early 30s and used to be very good at managing my money. In the last 2 years or so I have let things slide and now have a couple of credit cards and a loan. I also have very minimal savings. My aim is to break my goals into little mini ones and hopefully over the course of the next three years have it all paid off. My plan is to return to my old style ways and consider every purchase no matter how big or small. I will be getting creative in the kitchen and meal planning like crazy. Sacrifices will be made but needs must.
So wish me luck because here I go :rotfl:
My aims for this week:
Remove my credit cards from my wallet. I will no longer be needing these
Have at least 3 NSDs
Batch cook at least two meals for freezer.
Pay an extra £5 off a credit card.
Make sure I update this diary everyday.
Well I think that will be it for now. I'll be back tomorrow.

So no time like the present. The credit cards have been removed from my purse. I feel better already :rotfl:SPC9 #5070

I seem to have caught the MSE bug. I can't keep off it this evening :rotfl: Everyone's diaries are so inspiring so much so that I've just paid an extra £5 off of one of my credit cards so that's another thing ticked of the list.
I have been thinking of other little tasks I might tackle over the next few weeks which could save me some money.....grocery shopping, utilities usage, petrol usage etc. Anyone else have any ideas?SPC9 #5070 -
I'm hooked too!!!
Can only be a good thing though!!!
Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100 -
Well as promised, I am signing in for a second day

So this morning I have woken up feeling very positive about this whole debt busting thing. It's amazing what writing it all down can do to ease your mind. I think I slept better too.
Today's activities will be
All food from stores
Time spent pottering in the garden. Need to buy some materials to finish a garden project but will be using cash as it has been budgeted for. Therefore today will not be an NSD
Washing and using the line, not the tumble dryer
Batch cooking stew for tea. Hoping I can make 4 portions, one for today and one for each week of April.
Housework
Crafting
That should keep me busy.
I'll report back later to let you know how it's going

Maybe if you post a SOA people would be able to suggest other ideas

Hi INOD and thanks for stopping by. I have just reinstated the penny jar and put in any spare, loose change under 20p. I'm looking forward to the day when I can take it into the bank, change it for a note and then pay it off my pesky debt. I also like the idea about OPing the difference made by paying with vouchers. Might steal that little idea if you don't mind
Having a great day. Got loads done. Washing is blowing away on the line, budgeted items for the garden collected and now I'm batch cooking. In fact I'm on fire, not literally but I've managed to conjure up 15 batch cooked meals. Five of each of stew, pizza bases and curried parsnip soup. Now I'm back in the cooking zone I might try to do a bit more cooking on Monday and we'll pretty much be sorted for main meals during April
Happy days

Happy new diary, you sound so positive Daisy!
I know what you mean about the site being addictive, but I've picked up some hints and tips. I like the old style board as well, there's a brilliant thread called 'not buying it' that I lurk on, it really gives me food for thought!
Good luck on your journey xx0 -
Happy Easter :easter_ba
Today I'm pretty sure will be my first NSD :j. Not going to do much at all except for scoff chocolate

Thanks Marylandcookie. I like the OS boards too. In fact I'm going to swing by there later and see if the lovely fly ladies will let me join them. My house definitely needs it. I haven't seen the 'not buying it' thread though so I will go and have a look.
Anyway, just a quick update today from me as not much going on. Just going to pack away all the batch cooked meals from yesterday into the freezer, have dinner with family and an NSD
Happy Easter
