Hi Daisy, I was up at silly o clock too. I ummmed and ahhhed about whether to gym or not to gym, decided to gym and so glad that I did. Always feel so much better when I've been :0)
Regarding cleaning, I'll second star drops, I love the stuff. I also love white wine vinegar and water for the windows, decanted into an old spray bottle and cleaned off with scrunched up newspaper = bright, sparkly windows!
I wish I meal planned, I have tried and failed numerous times. I like to cook and do lots of batch cooking, then forget to take it out of the freezer so end up calling at the supermarket! I need to get more organised!
Well done on your payment, that's great news. I like my accounts to be nice and tidy and have even amounts in, I blame the OCD!!
Have a fab weekend xx0 -
Do you want the good news or bad news first?
The bad news is that it wasnt an NSD and worst of all it was because I caved in and got a takeaway for tea  it did come out of my weekly allowance that I allow myself but still annoying to think I could have had tea from stores as planned and saved that money. Never mind, no point worrying about it now I suppose.
The good news is that today I moved all my remaining credit card debt onto interest free by doing a balance transfer. I have also set up a DD every month allowing me to the pay the correct amount so that its all paid off by the time the interest free period runs out. I feel so much better now I have sorted it and can now rearrange my budget accordingly. Obviously I would rather smash my three year 'pay it all off' target and so all the extra overpayments will still be happening if I keep on track with my new frugal ways
Had a lovely day in the garden and now it's time to crash out on the sofa with my book.
Have a lovely evening

We had a takeaway - and very nice it was too!! For me it's about getting the balance right between living frugally and carefully, but not so much that we don't enjoy life. It sounds like everything else is on track for you, so try not to worry about it too much, as an odd treat it's not going to hurt.
I've been up and at em early doors again - got a load of washing in, pile of ironing done, just getting ready for the gym and took OH breakky in bed, cos I'm good like that
Have a lovely Sunday xx0 -
You have a lovely Sunday too MaylandCookie and hope you enjoyed your takeaway as much as I enjoyed mine. Chinese, yummy.
So I managed to have a rare lie in this morning and have been busy since with sorting out animals and grocery shopping. Off out now for the afternoon with the OH so will keep it cheap but it won't be an NSD.
Really pleased with this mornings grocery shopping. Managed to come in at £34 so shaved £6 off my £40 goal :T unfortunately the meat was very expensive so I resisted buying it but that means my plans I had for batch cooking spag Bol and burgers are now out the window. I have put the £6 aside for a time when it is needed for something more important rather than frittering it away. I'm thinking I might save all these odd amounts and perhaps save them towards birthdays or christmas.
Have a lovely Sunday

Had a lovely day out with the OH yesterday. Had a bit of lunch and a walk along the beach. The afternoon out including parking cost less than £10 so I was pleased with that.
I then came home and sorted out next months budget which is going to be tight. Dentist and car service both booked in for next month but needs must and therefore I must cut back in other areas. Fortunately my teeth are good and the car has only just passed its MOT so looking at approx £120 for both of these.
Today has been an NSD which makes 2/3 of my weekly challenge. I'm hoping I might be able to manage 4 this week but we'll see. No other money news as such, I'm in that waiting period between paydays.
On the simplifying front I have been sitting down by 9pm every night and reading my book. I'm pretty sure I'm sleeping better too.
Better go and put some tea on now. We have visitors this evening and I want to get lunchboxes for tomorrow and tidying done before they arrive. Have a lovely evening

Sounds like a lovely day, I'd love to live near the sea.
I love a NSD or three, they can get very addictive! The most I've managed in a week is 5!
What are you reading? I've just read A Song in Day light by Paullina Simmons, it was really good. I've read Tully and Red Leaves by her too.
Hope you have a nice evening with your guests xx0 -
Evening all :hello:
Thanks MarylandCookie for your book recommendations. I will look out for them and give them a try. I'm now 1/4 of the way through my book and am so glad I've got back into reading. I've really enjoyed it the last couple of days. 5 NSDs in one week is amazing. Maybe one day I will get that good
.
Sorry I didn't get around to posting yesterday but it was such a busy day although the money saving still continued. It wasn't an NSD but the only spending was £2.30 for my bus ticket which was already budgeted for in my monthly budget (I allow myself a certain amount for travel every month).
Money saving today has included all meals from stores and a no petrol day. I have also had an NSD so far but I think OH wants to go and pick up some more materials to finish our garden project. We have also turned the heating off today so I'm hoping to see a good reduction in my gas bill in the next quarter.
I'm still waiting on my balance transfer to the new interest free credit card to happen. I have had an email to say it has been successful but it isn't showing on my internet banking yet. I guess I should stop being so impatient but I'm eager to get it sorted so I can cancel my old cards. One of my old cards is one of these that you collect points in exchange for vouchers so before I cancel the card I need to make sure I withdraw my vouchers. I think I have about £20s worth so I will probably put them towards Xmas or a birthday present.
I'm hoping tomorrow will be an NSD. I will be taking my lunch to work and all other meals will be from the cupboards.
I'm off out now to enjoy the rest if this gorgeous evening. I hope you have a good one to

An early start for me this morning. I will definitely be requiring lots of coffee :coffee:
I have woken up to some good new though. My balance transfer is now complete :j. It now means I can crack on with paying them both off ASAP without occurring my more interest
Yesterday did not end up being an NSD because we bought some bits for our garden project. Paid cash because remember I don't carry credit cards anymore
. Today will not be a NSD either but only because I will have to pay my bus fare.
Goal recap for last week
3 NSDs - only met 2
Batch cook 2 meals for the freezer- didn't end up doing this. I ended up keeping my grocery bill as low as humanly possible so didn't buy any extra foods for batch cooking.
Keep shopping to below £40 for the week - DONE spent £35 :T
Log in and write a post every day - 6/7 ain't bad!
Read a book - really enjoying this. 1/4 way through great book.
Plant some vegetable seeds - not done but couldn't because the vegetable patch needed to be walked all over to complete the garden renovation works in that area. Maybe next week.
Be sat down by 9pm every night. DONE
Overall not too bad. I will think of some more goals for next week and post later
SPC9 #5070 -
:j It's Friday :j This means it's been two weeks since I started this diary and now a new week for new goals.
Money Saving
Let's try 3 NSDs this week again. I've not been very successful over the last 2 weeks so I'll give it another go
2 No Fuel Days
Keep weekly shopping below £40
Make cakes and biscuits instead of buying them.
Batch cook one meal
Overpay credit card by at least £5
Simple Living
Finish book
Make as much of my own food from scratch this week.
I am feeling really positive about this coming week
So starting off today with all meals from stores. Porridge for breakfast, sandwich for lunch and homemade soup for tea. It should also be an NSD. I'm off now to see if I can tidy up my bank account and pay a little bit off the credit card.
Enjoy the sunshine

A quick bank account tidy and £1.20 paid off the credit card. Every little helps
