There isn't a heating engineer on here who could say he'd have done a better job unless the OP had wanted to put more money into it.[\QUOTE]

This is the point. Even you are saying that it can be done, but it's a money thing. There is a communication issue here as the customer does not have what they wanted. I refer you back to post #38.

The OP has said the house has wooden floors everywhere (post #19) and I'm not going to disbelieve them. It's typical for the style of house and the photo of the exterior has an airbrick.

I didn't say lazy. I said the boiler siting is stupid (which it is) and the job is cheap (which it is)

I'm not saying it can be done from the pics I've seen. I said those tiles are vinyl tiles they never lay them on wooden floors so that floor is only capable of hiding pipes if its cut out and the pipes buried. COST again! Why hasn't the OP been back on to tell us how much she wanted to pay/how much the bill came to? I'll put money on she didn't want to pay the money it would cost to hide the pipes. You keep say, along with others, the plumber hasn't done his job right or, others have said, he's been lazy! Lazy plumbers don't label their gas pipes, they don't space their clips out, they don't bend their piping to keep an even space along a drop from vertical down to horizontal across to a rad, agreed the piping under the boiler is bad. I defy you or any of the other people on here to price that job up for buried pipes and the OP not balk at the cost. Before we sign this guys work off as "lazy" lets hear from the OP about the cost then I'll either agree with you or you'll have to agree with me.
I've worked on jobs before when the homeowner/landlord has said this is the budget give me a central heating system only for them to disappear, have no input or not to have listened to what they were told then come back and expect Rolls Royce for Reliant Robin prices.

That install looks like carp..... looks like the installer has just smacked it in with next to no thought. Even boxing those pipes in.Could have been made easier.

Those pipes running up the side of the door frame will be a pain to box in...why not run them up the left side of the wall.

I am no plumber but on that particular photo I would have chased into the wall a full lengths of pipe with no join's.

As for the plumber, I would be surprised if he would use this job as an example of his good workmanship. Even if the customer did not specify he wanted a neat job, the plumber should have standards.

You would have chased a 15mm pipe run into a wall would you?
"the cost of a neat job should be negligible on a job like this" I'm sorry mate but burying pipes into a solid brick walls isn't a negligible cost, its quite time consuming actually.
You have to bury them deep enough to be plastered over without the plaster being too thin or it falls off due to cracking from the pipes heat. Lets say he could have buried them in a gf wooden floor, that's still time consuming and greater cost. It's got the hallmarks of a cheap job and that's what she got.
You said he's been lazy, I don't see lazy I see either OP wanting a cut price job or not telling her plumber what she wanted and Doozergirl is correct lack of communication on both parts.
