I sometimes can't hide my irritation when I see yet another news story about a couple struggling with money and struggling to feed their kids.

You're struggling because you've got kids! Don't have them, if you can't afford them. You're in horrendous debt because you've got kids.
Not sure how your argument works for, lets say a family of four with working parents, where just one has lost their job as a result of cutbacks. I dare say you could not think that far out of the box though ;)

If only the rich had children, what kind of world would we live in?
There are many reasons why people don't have much money, why are you just concentrating on those who have children? Especially when children will grow up and pay taxes that will fund your pension.

    I have a child but I don't have a dog. I can't afford a dog as well, unfortunately.

I'm not sure how they would incorporate dog food into a cookery programme.

Fairly surprised nobody's suggested eating the dog yet, actually

Well done Lulu for fishing that out. What a unpleasant, bitter, spiteful individual the OP sounds. And what a horrible nasty attitude. His original post is dreadful!

Such a bitter and angry person. :(

Quite a few doing the rounds on here just now.

Ive never felt as if I get treated like a second class citizen because I don't have kids, far from it.

Why don't they ever focus on a couple that doesn't have any children who are struggling but have wisely chosen not to have children.

I consider myself to have a family. My family is me, my girlfriend and our dog, but we get treated like second-class citizens because we don't have any children.

Whilst I agree you are wise not to have children -you are obviously a Darwinist -basically if you've dodged debt on a previous relationship (which you've boasted about) and only have a dog and a girlfriend then either you are both unemployable or really bad with money -in which case it really doesn't matter if you have children or not as whether you've reproduced or not you'd still be those things surely ?
