Barclaycard Platinum BT offers

Hi there. I just upgraded my Barclaycard Initial to Platinum and tried to increase my 250 credit limit to 1500, but I was offered 750 pounds increase which I gladly accepted.

Immediately after that I received BT offer for 6.9% p.a. with 2.9% fee. Since this is my first offer from them, does anyone knows if this offer will last in my account until I plan to use it or they will remove it from my account after some time? Because i plan to use it after a month and I am not sure if the offer will be still there.

Also if used wisely do you think that Barclaycard could offer be even more good BT offers like 0% deals?

Thank you in advance, cheers

My offers from Barclaycard change monthly usually the day after the statement has come out so keep an eye on your online account. They also send the same offers via post and also e-mail just in case I didn't check online lol.

As an example, current offers showing in my account now are 12 months BT at 0% with 2.9% fee, and a money transfer to bank account for 9 months for 1.9% fee.

I usually pretty much get the same offers each month, sometimes it extends to 15 or 18 months for the BT or the fee lowers.

i would say you probably don't need to worry about the offer disappearing.. it will likely be replaced with something similar, or better.
do you use a different card for your spending? if not, i would get one if you want to improve your credit history.
and when the time is right, taking a deal from Barclaycard, and adhering to the terms, will build up your history with them--improving the offers they make to you in the process.

Yes, i am currently using Aqua classic for my spending, but i plan to move to more prime lenders, like Barclaycard. So next month i will BT to Barclaycard and will ditch the Aqua card i think.

What Candyapple said. Not every month brings a BT offer though, so don't rely on it.

If you manage your account well they start to double your credit limit after about a year/each year.

ok, xkpa. i would suggest spending on a card other than both Aqua and Barclaycard, and keep Barclaycard as a 'borrowing' Balance Transfer provider.

my first thought is Amex Cashback..as im a big fan. but they can be demanding in terms of credit history.

I have noticed that Barclays give me a new offer nearly every month. So far I am very impressed with my Barclays Platinum card and there online site is very easy to use.

The offers usually get better after all they want your business! There's usually a deadline on each offer if that helps you make any decisions. My latest is 0% on Bts with 1.9% fee until October 15.
Can I ever learn this budgeting lark? So far it's not looking promising

Their offers can vary considerably. Some I've had for balance transfers from non-Platinum Barclaycard cards include:

    card 2: December 2014: 3.9% fee then 0% until 1 December 2016 (23-24 months).

    card 3: January 2015: 2.9% fee then 0% until 1 March 2016 (13-14 months).
    card 3: February 2015: 3.9% fee then 0% until 1 May 2016 (14-15 months).
    card 3: April 2015: 3.3% fee then 0% until 1 July 2016 (14-15 months).

Santander card: April 2015: 3% fee then 0% until Match 2016 (11-12 months)

For the December card 2 offer I asked them to increase my credit limit then used the offer to the maximum permitted level. I haven't used either of the card 3 offers.

The offers vary but they do tend to be quite keen to make money from the credit limit that they are offering you, perhaps so they don't have provisions for the risk tied up without corresponding money coming in.

None of these offers are as good as the best new customer deals from a range of cards but they have the advantage of not having a mandatory credit application check and having some potential credit improvement potential by increasing the average lifetime for which you've had a particular credit facility.

My Barclaycard cashback account (ex-egg) doesn't often have a money transfer on it, though it does this month, whereas my other card usually has both BT and MT available.

I used to get the standard 6.9% balance transfer offers from Barclaycard.
Got myself out of debt and started spending a lot on an Amex & Aqua cash back card. Now I'm always getting offers from Barclaycard. BT - 18m 3.2%fee. MT 1.6% 13 months are the latest offers I have.
