No, I have.

none of us have:p so there
Name The Planet update
The competition has taken a new twist as Mel has decided to use the winning name in the title of book two. So far we many thousands of entries and a lot are sadly duplicated. As yet nothing sticks out well enough to not only use in the title, but win you the £10,000 prize. We will keep scanning the entries, but are now considering extending the deadline to give you all a fair chance of being chosen. So, give it a try and remember the chosen name will feature in the title, along with the huge prize and I am sure some words regarding yourself at the front of the book.0 -
I'm getting a bit cheesed off with the organisers of this competition. :mad:sandstormer wrote: »

They keep moving the closing dates to suit themselves, the 'win a mini' comp was supposed to end in December, then was moved to May, now the Name The Planet comp has been moved indefinitely...bah.
It all seems a bit fishy to me, and anyway - the book is pants so you can't tell me there wasn't a suitable planet name in all the thousands of entries they got, sounds like they want to string out this comp till the 2nd book is ready to publish.0 -

On the site he does mention (in an interview) that he has never read a book in his life  :rotfl:
and the winner, picked at random, is - Mrs. Hogan :rotfl:0 -
Having a bit more of a search I notice - Children of the 23rd Century published by Athena Press
Athena Press - an author-funded book publisher dedicated to the publication of books by new authors :rolleyes:0 -

I submitted more than one entry for the planet name and I bought and read the book cover to cover as well. (Maybe I disqualified myself! But there was nothing in the Terms and Conditions for the Name the Planet comp that said you could only submit one entry) and I didn't receive a confirmation e-mail/e-mails. I shall be FURIOUS  if my planet name is chosen and my contribution is not acknowleged.0

The win a mini one has finished i think
as he hasn't said anymore about extending that again:rolleyes: YET:rolleyes: let us know if any of you get a phone call to answer the question to win the mini and what he asks it will be interesting to see what he finally says is the correct answer . I'm not sure if the name the planet has finished or not because his last news up-date on that said something like he didn't like any of names submited so far or they were not original enough so he was THINKING of extending the date to that again
but i have looked on his site and nothing else has been said so guess we'll have to wait and see 0
