We asked the doctor about this, & he offers us Cialis (sorry sus spelling) on a private prescription - which is around £40.
As we live on benefits this is something we just cant afford.
Does the nhs supply viagra or whatever???
Many thanks
As pointed out unless you have diabetis mellitus, MS, Parkinsons, prostate cancer/prostate removal or a handful of other conditions, you can't get viagra on the NHS.
Buying online can be VERY dangerous - it's not regulated and you could be buying ANYTHING.
Have you spoken to your GP about the drugs he's currently taking, to see if there is another hypertension regimen that might suit him better?April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200 -

If you take a private script, shop around at different pharmacies - they can charge what they want...April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200 -
I wasn't meaning to recommend random drug purchases online. The internet route was actually suggested to us by DH's doctor.
If your doctor has identified this as a suitable medication for your other half, and he is aware of what to look out for, and has regular checkups, then logically it makes little difference whether you get it from your local pharmacy or through the post.
For those who are worried about how long it lasts, it doesn't work like that. Just taking a tablet has no observable effect. It just ensures that when the emotional mood is right, the physical side is there to match it. And when it's done, it's done.0 -
Interesting article on the pluses and minuses of Viagra from the point of view of both sexes.

this isn't an 'instant fix', because it takes time and he shouldn't come off any medication against his doctor's advice, but he might feel better all round!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
As an afterthought to the above, Flora makes a drink which is supposed to help lower BP - there are two, one for BP and one for fighting cholesterol. They are NOT cheap but I believe they have been found effective for some people.
having been on medication for high BP for a while, I would do a heck of lot not to go back on it again!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

But Margaret, you've lived into your 70s. Rabbits only last a few years after all that activity.:rotfl:0 -
My problem is something along these lines, in that viagra and cialis don`t work for my hubby ( he`s diabetic as well as other problems ) anyway he`s been offered the injection, only trouble is there`s an 8 month waiting list at local hospital for them to show me how to inject him!!!. We`re only in our 50s.
Speaking of rabbits, i`ll have to find mine, lol0 -
I do remember - no idea where from! - reading about a sex therapist trying to help a couple who were past the first flush of youth. After listening to their problems for a while she asked "How many more children were you wanting to have?" They were shocked at the idea that she might think they wanted ANY more, so she pointed out - as Margaret has already said - that there's more than one way of loving each other.
I'm not trying to belittle the problem - as a woman I would have no idea of the trauma caused by not being able to perform as one used to be able to - but I do think we place too much emphasis on 'the act' at the expense of 'the loving'. Relationships survived before the discovery of Viagra ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Hello, nuttywoman - you don't inject him, he injects himself. He gets the prescription and there's a leaflet with it showing exactly how to do it. If you want more details, PM me and I'll get my DH to explain.
Best wishes
