Has any got any experience or/and can recommend me a good free standing washing machine from the following few -

AEG L98699FL Freestanding Washing Machine, 9kg Load, A+++ Energy Rating, 1600rpm Spin, White

Samsung WW90H7410EW Freestanding Washing Machine, 9kg Load, A+++ Energy Rating, 1400rpm Spin, White

LG F14A7FDSA TrueSteam™ Freestanding Washing Machine, 9kg Load, A+++ Energy Rating, 1400rpm Spin, White

I basically have £700 of John Lewis credit to replace my current faulty one and the above all seem pretty decent.

Thanks

John Lewis branded machines are AEGs, so check the prices.

Our AEG died last year and it was about 15 years old. I wouldn't spend £700, is a 9kg load actually needed? Drop to 7kg and you will save £350.

Don't be drawn in by spin speed either. Full spin speed is may only available on a few programmes. On our new Siemens it only spins at 1400rpm on one programme.

We are a house hold of 4 with 2 kids, so the 9kg really does help with the extra space.

John Lewis ones are just as likely to be Zanussi or Electrolux.

Nothing comes close to Miele on washing machine. Dont get taken in on capacity by itself. Look at the whole package. Miele often run promotions offering machines with 10 year warranties. Get one of those and you will be laughing.

Miele are solidly built and a 20 year life is normal.

I got a Siemans washing machine at John Lewis for less than that and absolutely love it. I think it washes the clothes better than my other washing machines as well

Would an 8kg be large enough for a family between 2 adults and 2-3 chidlren?
My current 9kg LG has the capacity and feature to even put out king size diet into the drum, so if I was to reduce the size to an 8kg, I would hope I would still be able to get the duvet in to it...

Even when my sister and I were both home, we had a horse, with associated washing of his stuff and our extra gear, often caked in mud, and uniforms at school, mum managed to get the washing done with probably a 5kg machine as that was all that was available then.
And she worked full time. And we never had a tumble drier. And she sorted things by the temps on the labels plus light dark....

    Miele end of conversation.

You won't regret it and if your a light user it will be the last one you ever buy.

If your a heavy user expect 10 years from it.
