our garden is a TIP!!!! hence the urgency to try and put it right! We bought our house in 2013 when I was pregnant with P, so a lot was done initially inside the house but when I went on mat leave the work had to stop as we couldn't pay for it! Our garden is very wide and is covered by decking which takes over the whole garden! Until last weekend we had the fence to our right completely rotten and god only knows how it was still standing, the lawn has been ruined by the dog! and we had no borders, just weeds EVERYWHERE except the veg patch! And the most awful patio ever! I don't think we can take the decking up this year as we would need a skip and to pay for turf and a new patio - so we are tarting up around the decking area!
Trouble is I will spend all weekend in the garden and the house will be even more of a pigsty than usual! I need more hours in the day!!! And I need to get my aunt round, she was talking about giving us some cuttings for the borders :-)Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100 -
haha, now I feel a bit better about my garden. I was imagining some kind of oasis with lovely painted stuff in it!! lol
There definitely aren't enough hours in the day, I would definitely ringing the emergency mum line for garden help!! We have plenty to do although it's tidy enough when grass is cut. I need to finish painting the fence and then do another coat and then dig over the borders, do the edges and get rid of the extra lawn growing between my path slabs and do some pots!! I have a Kilimanjaro of ironing though needs doing but I'd rather be outside, haha

My Kilimanjaro remains - despite a two hour slog midweek, and it will be topped up tomorrow with this weeks washing! Definitely need to invent an extra hour or clone myself, the to-do-list is looking shocking at the moment. P screams if shes left alone for any period greater than 5 mins making doing anything on a weekend hardwork! And the garden isn't safe enough yet to have her wandering around there! Think I've used all my grandparent baby sitting tokens for the month - so will have to work around naps and in evenings! I was weeding in between the patio slabs at 8pm last night - CRAZY!!! SO today I finish at 1pm pick up P and head to Next to pick up an order then Clarks to pick up ordered shoes, cram in some lunch before school pick up and then hopefully I can get the paintbrush out! Whilst simultaneously cooking god knows how many meals, keeping P happy, doing the washing and supervising the dog so he doesn't dog up any of our newly planted shrubs!!
I soooooo need a lie in, think a Full English bribe for OH is in order!!! Roll on 1pm!Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100 -
Busy, busy, crazy weekend! Did all my running around on Friday afternoon. Old shed painted and photographed for ebay, new one collected and erected (its huge!). Bin store and planters painted, aunt bought over a load of plants from her garden they are all planted now! Did some ironing, all the washing and managed to get to my nephews birthday party for a few hours. Did manage to forget O's homework though :-( BAD MUMMY!!! Job for tonight!
We have a skip arriving at some point this week, so evenings will be spent filling that from the rubbish accumulated in the garden over the past week or so! Sold some maternity Pjs for £14 on ebay plus some baby clothes £13 - all gone to pay the CC - which is under the £800 mark! First month of 0% gone, 5 months to left repay!! And we are now under the £30k mark too - yay yay yay! Next big goal to be under £25k!Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100 -
Seem to be losing some momentum with the earning extra... This week have accumulated a few little bits from ebay and swagbucks. Old shed is on ebay and due to finish Sat pm, its doing well already! Any money for that is going towards the cost of the new one/the skip! Company accounts are a little further along, in that I have posted and reconciled the bank!
This weekend should hopefully be quite spend free as I want to paint some fences, which should keep me out the shops! We have a big joint of beef to feed all the kids tomorrow as we have the 3 stepkids as well as own 2! Have spent about £200 on vets bills over the past week, our baby has injured her tail and wont let it heal, we have till Monday before a final decision about whether its amputated or not, poor thing. Am DEFINATELY claiming on pet insurance this time around.
Week and two days left at current job, wish time would go a little faster!!!!Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100 -
Hi Mums, sorry I've been missing in action lately. Busy at work and not had a spare minute to get online. Firstly YAY and congratulations for being under 30
Woo hoo. Doesn't the 2 sound so much less? lol
Sounds like you've had an expensive pet week!! At least you have the insurance to claim on, I assume you'll get your money back at some point?
Hope all is well xx0 -
Old shed sold for £142!!! Result! Still needs to be picked up though and paid for! Been a crazy week, cat still in and out of the vets. I ripped my toenail half off which involved 3 hours in the walk in centre :-(.
Today has been a total disaster so far! P woke us at 5am and refused to go back to sleep, ive thrown up twice at work, decided to get some fresh air at lunch only for the heavens to open and NO umbrella and wearing sandals (coz of toe) - so am soaked through and don't finish work until 3.30!! Going to be a soggy hour or so!
Cat has another vet visit tonight - final decision on whether tail stays or goes - poor thing!
Hey chasingfreedom, I saw your diary and great to see its going down! We are off on holiday (again - ssshh!!!) at end of August and I cannot wait! Start my new job on weds, will be there 4 weeks before a week off (childminder off) then another 2 weeks before another week off :-)Make £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100 -
Happy day, £142 for an old shed is great!!! Sounds like you are all in the wars, cat included, lol. It's horrible isn't it when there is something wrong with them. They soon bounce back though.
Good luck in the new job, what do you do? and where is the next hol? It's nice to have things to look forward to xx0 -
