Interesting day to post given CEL are in court today.0

probably a bored CEL solicitor sat in Edinburgh bored out of his skull0

If the CEL solicitor is in Edinburgh then the accused up in Aberdeen are surely on a hiding to nothing. 0 0

Perhaps, or one of the hopeless inadequates who pitch up here from time to time, "worried sick", "having nightmares" and why, because a gang of ex-clampers are trying to con them out of a few quid.
To some, fighting a PPC invoice is probably one of the most intellectually challenging problems they will encounter in their lives.
To them I say, sell your xbox, sell your ipad, sell your ipod, stop smoking, cancel your Sky subscription, stay out of the bookies, stop buying scratchcards, and engage a solicitor.
Trying to do it yourself, even with the advice of the regulars on here, is a minefield. You will blow yourself to smithereens, you will be way out of your comfort zone, and you will be easy meat for the PPC's lawyer. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Nothing new from the Original poster.
To give Him/Her the benefit of doubt....
Its not unknown for people to post on here who for want of a better word are trolls working for private parking companies these posts are often in the style of the original post.
If the original poster is genuine then there may be some help available but only if they come back.
Lets have a look at the thread in detail...
OK, so what happened where was the court case heard and so onI've been taken to court!
 but hang on a sec
andnow I've received a court summons!
but yet the OP has started withWhat happens if I lose?I've been taken to court!
So you either have been taken to court or you haven't?
 which is it?
As for the figures the £50 sounds a bit odd for a PPC ticket, hence the question who issued the ticket, and who is/was demanding payment of the original tickets?
no it wont this sounds like you have been taken in by the rubbish spouted by the private parking industry either as a genuine member of the public - or as a poor brainwashed private parking industry employee ( the employee issue can be fixed with a P45 form - followed by bitterness towards the former employer )What happens if I lose? Will this totally destroy my credit rating?
Worst case scenario if a PPC ticket: You lose
 options :
 appeal the decision,
Ask the judge to reconsider the amount, I believe this happened with one case where the true amount due to be paid was significantly less than the PPC hoped for
Come to some sort of repayment agreement ( ie pay a little off over a period of time )
Even better check to see if the PPC has any outstanding CCJs and agree that anything you do pay goes towards the parking company's creditors making sure that the PPC sees not one penny for their effort.
Even if its a council; ticket and the worst happens you can usually come to some sort of arrangement
thats the worst case - which is unlikely
So to answer: Play your cards right and your credit rating will be untouched, there are a few hoops to go through before that happens. What happens if I lose? Will this totally destroy my credit rating? Me and my wife were hoping to get a mortgage sometime!
Unless the OP can add more information then any serious reply will be a waste of time
 Council ticket or private?
were you taken to court or not?
who issued the tickets? From the Plain Language Commission:

I live in Scotland and over the past couple of years got a few parking tickets. I had a look on this forum and read the sticky thread that said if I live in Scotland I could just ignore them and nothing would happen, and now I've received a court summons! I'm being sued for £870.00, plus expenses!
First of all, why do you tell people to ignore tickets if they could end up going to court, and secondly, what do I do now?
I'm freaking out a bit because I can't afford to pay this and certainly can't afford a lawyer! I wish I'd never seen the advice about ignoring them and just paid the first one when it was only £50!
What happens if I lose? Will this totally destroy my credit rating? Me and my wife were hoping to get a mortgage sometime!
 Please help!

Telling you to ignore a PCN in Scotland is not giving you 'licence' to stack up as many PCNs as you like, without fear of repercussion. If you've read things that way - don't blame anyone here!
Good luck in court. Tell us know how you get on.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

If the tickets are £50 and the amount sued for excludes expenses how do you get £870? Perhaps the OP got half a ticket at one point?0

            Hi,
Firstly, apologies for not responding quicker. I don't always have access to the internet and I had a lot on yesterday. This doesn't make me a "troll"! It's nice to see so many of you pay attention to the "be nice to newbies" thing!
I've been sued by Vehicle Control Services Limited. It relates to 6 tickets and it adds up to £870 becuase they charge £100 plus a £45 additional cost per ticket. It doesn't say anything about keepers. It says "the defender or an authorised driver of the defender's vehicle"...
I haven't written to them, cos everywhere I looked it says you can just ignore these and tehy can't be enforced!
I get this is a public forum and tehre's going to be be lots of people giving opinions that might be wrong, but that advice about ignoring them in Scotland is in a sticky thread at the top of the forum! So I figured it must have been checked by the admins so was probably right! I'm not trying to start an argument, and I know that whatever I do in my own life is my own responsibility, but if that advice is wrong, so you not think it should maybe be edited?
Anyway, does anyone have any advice on defending this action? Whats the defence about them claiming more than theyve lost?0
