Firstly, do return to the site, to tell us, what happens either way, it will be useful to someone in the future.

I would say, that it is highly likely you have been accepted. I have electronically signed agreements and direct debit guarantees with several cards/loans.

Not heard of it with TSB, but Barclaycard have cancelled people cards after they have been accepted and the card sent to them.

So nothing is certain, till you get the card and activate it and use it for the first time.

You'll know for certain when the card account appears in your online banking.

It sounds like it's been passed for referral (human checking) maybe.

    Fingers crossed for you :-)
  • I have still not heard anything but will update this thread as soon as i do. I am waiting for the decline letter to come through my door now i think as nothing has appeared in my online account and it has been just over a week.

It's still early considering we have just had 2 bank holiday days so you never know. :)

  • I just wanted to come back an let you all know the outcome. I hate when you are looking for an answer and people never let you know what happened.

I called after a few days of not hearing anything and they told me over the phone that the application had been declined. They say if you are pre-approved for any credit it will appear in the 'My Offers' section of the online banking page. They also say you can call them to check if any services are available to you before you apply.

I hope this helps someone in the future.

Thanks for coming back and telling us about that one.

I had a similar experience, I applied for a new current account, it was approved with a £1,000 overdraft.

Received the card and PIN, started transferring DD's SO's etc,,

One month later a letter arrived saying they were closing my account in 14 days if I didn't go into branch with ID passport, driving licence etc,etc..

I was furious, as the nearest branch was some distance away and in the middle of a very busy city centre.

I did what they asked, but after complaining heavily received £50 in Compo.

Why open the account, if they had any doubts about my identity, living at the same address for over 15 years and being on the electoral roll.

Hmm, I must have been pre-approved. I got offers for the purchase credit card and personal loan on a handful of occasions over a couple of days last month around the 22nd-25th I think but I didnt take up the offers - for the 3-4 months previous to that all I ever got was offers for savings accounts. I opened my first Classic Plus current account in January.

Anyway, since those couple of days of offers i've been back to constantly getting offers for e-savings and cash ISA's again like before.
