Now that is a very useful tip, thank you!0 -
If you're not actually buying you could always get the train to Southampton as the shop isn't far from the station; but no, I'd never go on a Bank Holiday!
I once went in on a Saturday, on the way to the football, to pick up a few bits which could go in my handbag, but I left the items at the tills when I got there the queues were so bad. Not too bad going round as I checked their maps for short cuts!0 -

I'm disabled, so the train is out I'm afraid - I have to be able to park nearby (I have a blue badge) and I have a small mobility scooter which I am hoping will be okay to use in the store. This may be a help when asking for shortcuts through the store though!0 -
I've been before on a BH but just go early, as soon as it opened and it was fine for the first hour or so. I suppose each one differs though.0

I own a three-seater Ektorp (bought from eBay for £29!) and have had it for a total of two years. It's quite comfortable and has worn very well. I was debating buying a two seater and a new cover for the three-seater when we decorate our living room later in the year.
I can definitely recommendAlthough go and have a sit on it first and see what you think!
I cannot recommend Ikea on a bank holiday though...every time I've gone during half term (often by accident) I've ended up being close to having a nervous breakdown due to the hoards of people wandering aimlessly around, couples arguing and children running around screaming. All due to me being a grumpy sod, but not the greatest experience ever, regardless! Even if you do have a lot of patience, parking tends to be a nightmare in every one I've been to...and that's before you even get in there.
I'd go super early in the morning or save it until the Tuesday.0 -
The man who designed Ikea was so clever, once they get you through the door they don't let you out until you've followed the arrows to walk all around the store and pick up all those impulse buys that seem to be a good idea, but you never went in for.
It has the opposite effect sometimes though - I live near enough just to pop in for a few things every so often, but because you can't (not easily) just "pop" into Ikea, it deters me from going at all until I really need to.Life is mainly froth and bubble

It's true about the shortcuts, but I still always manage to get lost - in spite of having been there many times before!Life is mainly froth and bubble
