Well done everyone! I'm hoping this month I'll reach some milestones by paying off next and getting my debt down below £13k!0

I've just cleared our credit card before the charges would have kicked in. The balance is now £0.00 and the account is being closed on Monday.
It's a funny feeling though, I feel numb and exhausted. A double Southern Comfort and lemonade please, to help me relax and get ready to bash on with the next target.
Next target is to clear just under £3k by no later than November. This is actually an unsecured loan which is part of our mortgage and included in my total balance . I decided to tackle it first then when that's cleared we will start on the main mortgage.0 -
From 18 accounts to pay - finally down to the last one.0

Where do I start? Finally came clean to my family about the fact I'd accrued a rather large amount of debt between 2000 and 2007 (circa £100k).
CCA'd all 10 of my original creditors and have definite confirmation from 3 of them (totaling apx £22k) that the a/c are unenforceable. 2 have yet to reply with full details so I expect they don't have what they need (these 2 a/c represent apx £35k in real terms).
In the last 4 months I've managed to get 3 incorrectly reported default dates removed from the CRA files (including the almost notorious BC!), lowered my overdraft borrowing from £4000+ to a mere £400, and after lord knows how many years was accepted for a 0% cc - so have shifted the balance on these (total £3900) to a 20 month 0% balance transfer deal (standing order set up to clear balance in full before the end of the promotional period).
Closed 2 sub prime CC accounts, which as given me great joy and can now get the balance of the OD paid off next month allowing me to start to save with a view to making F&F offers on my 'old me' debts dating back to 2007.
Most importantly I've completely changed my outlook on money, life, credit and the things that make me happy. I've a helluva long way to go to be debt free, but in the here and now I owe so much to the contributors of this board that I just wanted to say thanks one and all.0 -
Morning all, bit early for a proper drink but I have poured a little bit of Baileys into the coffee, that way no one will know

Just reporting a milestone here - I've just paid off my last credit card! At the start of 2014 I had FIVE CCs, all with balances owing, now I have 2 left but with nothing owing on either card, so I am officially CC free :j
Still a bank loan and tax credit overpayment to go but I'm very happy that for the first time in about 8 years I don't owe anything on a credit card :beer:Starting 2016 debt-free

Well done everyone - some fantastic achievements here!;)
For me, a mini milestone this month as I have dropped under 13k. Some big milestones looming though (2 debts clear, 75% paid back and hitting 10k) so look out as I intend to get virtually slaughtered!! Think I will be able to cope with a cyber hangover:o
