slightly different car but should give similar consumption as same engine..
we have a 63 Cmax on a 1.6tdci and rarely get over 38-40mpg around town and on the commute, which invloves 5m mway and some urban.
Gets about 60-65mpg on a long mway run...0 -
A big thank you to everyone that has commented on my thread. Your views and thoughts have been a big help.
We are currently thinking of sticking with a petrol and are reading up on the Ford Focus Zetec 1.0 (100ps) Ecoboost 5dr.
We wont be rushing into anything, just looking at the minute.0 -

Isn't that about 4k more than a 1.6 petrol?
If you change the car on a regular basis you'll need to do a fair few miles to get your money back.0 -

We had a 1.0 focus ecoboost hire car late last year. Hubby did all the driving of it but was highly complementary of the engine and how it performed.0 -

Gets about 60-65mpg on a long mway run...Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -

Our citroen multispace was about the same economy.0 -
Whats the Astra pulling MPG ? I know well serviced they can get 40MPG average running and 47 motorway.
The trick is cleaning the throttle body right out gives a good 5mpg back , new Air filter, injectors kept clean, good tyre pressure, thermostat 100% working and they are quite good for a petrol 1.6.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
Our Astra is a 60plate. Around Brid is does around 28-30mpg.
On a run 60-70mph it does around 38-40. I wish our car had a sixth gear as in my opion it could do with one at high speeds.
Fully enough we have just had the Thermostat replaced as it was on its way out.0 -
Does anyone know what MPG the 1.0 ford focus ecoboost do?
So many threads I keep reading online say different from 30-60mpg.
thanks0 -
Ignore the manufacturer figures I think realistically you'll be getting mid to high 30s depending on driving style on the Focus 1.0T. I tried that engine in the Fiesta with Powershift gearbox and averaged 48 but that involved by little urban running. If you're driving round Brid a lot, and getting stuck behind those retired residents, or slow tourists, you'll be changing gear a lot, that'll impact your mpg!0
