FizzWhizz - I love the PP videos, there is something so satisfying about empty products even someone elses. There is one lady who does them who also does a series about letting go of the love of stuff. She said something which rang very true with me - you know things are getting out of hand when you are spending even more money on storage systems for the excessive amount of stuff you have bought which you didn't need (she said it better).I often think that too FizzWhizz - Benefit and Clinique seem to send all their new releases to every blogger and youtuber! It's always so obvious too when 10 of the same reviews go up on the same day. I would rather they knocked down the prices instead!
Dolly - yep that's very familiar for me too, buying more storage for all the unnecessary make up! Eyeshadow palettes have been a massive unnecessary purchase for me ever since I started watching YouTube. I have so many of them and hardly ever wear them. I have loads of lip products too but I do actually use (some of) them. Prior to watching YouTube, I had a couple of bags of make up - now I own a whole storage system!!
I agree, seeing someone else's empties is always good, although I am baffled by those who don't cut tubes open -- clearly not everybody is as MSE as we are! I was killing time in Homesense on Friday whilst waiting for my car to be ready and they had a lot of the Muji-esque acrylic storage containers. A lipstick one was £10, sure they look pretty and all but I would need at lease two of them, and if there was space I'd probably "need" to buy more lipsticks just to fill it upI'll stick with my rather ugly EL GWP makeup bag in a drawer I think. That doesn't even need dusted
I have been watching a few basket/PP vids and its inspired me to drag out all my makeup and have a good sort through. I had over a hundred different eye shadows (now you know why I don't count them) and I have thrown away at least twenty; most were donkeys years old and had very poor colour payoff when swatched (Rimmel was the main offender there) and a few were dupes I had several times over; now many sparkly dark grey shadows do I need?! I'll probably never hit pan in one, let alone UU eight of the bu&&ers! So they're gone.
Other bits to fling:
elf Cream Blush(dried up)
elf Pressed powder(too dark)
Clear Lip Gloss(smelled funky)
Garnier Day Cream(separated)
Frizz Ease Mini Serum(can't do silicones in my hair, too drying)
All the mini trays I use to keep products separate have been cleaned out and put back together neat and tidy so I am feeling all :A now
Off to have a big shower and wash a million eyeshadow swatches off my poor hands, they're actually sore with the amount of rubbing I've subjected them to!0 -
LOL it's only now I've reread the clue in your post I've figured it out Fizz. I was trying to think of English rivers like Thames and Severn. Sussed it now.SPC~12 ot 124

The large on-line business with a name like a big river has Seche Vite quick dry topcoat for £5.50 a bottle, I use gallons of this and seems like a good price.:D Free delivery over £10, effectively 2 bottles for the price of 1.
Am I the only one who can't figure this out?! :rotfl:

Saw an article today in the Daily Mail (oh, the shame!!) about how woman spend approx £80,000 on face products alone in their lifetime
Anyway, it got me to thinking about the monetary value of the stashes we have and not just the space issue.
As this is a money saving website, would any of you be up for listing the costings of either your stash or the products you are attempting to use up? Thought it would be a bit more motivational to see it in a monetary value.
Also because I went to Sainsburys last night for lemons and came out with a bottle of gradual tan (like I need that:( !!) Was only £5 but still, £5!!

Stash list needs another update too, as I've found a few more bits over the last 5 days - but at least it's only been an odd tub or tube of something instead of full boxesCheryl0 -
South American river - starts with an "A"
It'll take me a few days (still busy 'sifting and sorting' during the day so can only work on it in an evening, and out baby sitting GDs most of Thursday afternoon/all Thursday evening), but I'm up for it - the only proviso being I'm planning to cost most things for replacements not what I actually have (used to buy 'names' when I had a well paid job, but don't any more and have already costed in shops for cheapest I'm happy with of most items - the one exception I can think of being my 0pium perfume!

Ah, yes, I get it now :rotfl: jeez it's been a long day.
I think the money values will be very motivational. Where I know something was part of a set, I have just used the normal retail price as difficult to divide it up, but still shocking figures.
Maybe we could have a competition for May as to who can use up the most money??

sorry everyone.I am not always very good at these, but this is one that seems to pop up often on MSE. - "Amazon"
I don't think that I dare tot up the value of my stuff:eek: it would probably induce a panic attack, however I might start a spread sheet and cost all the IN's and UU's as they occur - in fact I will begin now with the Seche Vite:)The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. That's a good idea - almost like a bank statement where you list 'INS £4.99 and UU - £10.99' so as long as your OUTS as more than your INS, you're in a credit balance :rotfl::rotfl:
