Hi folks

My car mats are getting dirtier and worn out day by day.

Can someone suggest what can I put over them in order to keep them clean?

Thanks

    don,t use the car , catch a train

    mats are there to protect the carpet and are disposable , when old and tired replace them.

    Car mats are good for keeping the area they cover clean.

    Place another one over the one you want to keep nice.

    Cling film. A forcefield. Clear lacquer. Another mat. A cat or dog. A Persian rug.

    Or, perhaps you could change into slippers when in the car?

    Have a spare set.

    * Take old set out and hoover the floor of the car, then place the spare set.
    * Hoover and clean the old set and let them dry, then keep them as the spare set for next time.
    * Rinse and repeat. :)

    Sorry but this made me lol!

    My mats, which fit my car perfectly were under £15 on ebay. As previous people have said their job is to protect the car. Otherwise buy two pars of mats so one will always be in pristine condition.

    Either take a wheelbarrow full of money to the dealer for your car and purchase a set of tailored mats, or simply go to eBay, type the model of your car and "mats" and you can buy a set of "top quality" tailored mats that fit perfectly and look quite good for the 3 months they last for about £15.

    EDIT: Rob has said the same above (apart from the 3 month life, I suppose they last longer if you keep your feet off them, my heel has tunnelled right through mine.)
    I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

    (except air quality and Medical Science ;))
