IP address 82.128.19.67 routes back to Nigeria as well. So it's a scam."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

If you want to check out an IP address yourself you can visit http://www.ip-adress.com/index.php if even gives you a map.0

And what do you know - got another one this morning! Used the tool above - IP address is Nigerian.0

Sorry if this question seems a bit dim
but now i have the ip checker website, how do i get the ip address of the sender of an email??? All I get shown (hotmail) is the senders email address, not all that header info....
Is there something I click to display this???
Thanks for your help xxxI'm a nutter :j0 -
i got into a email communication with someone who wanted to buy a couple of wardrobes i had listed there. i told them that i already had a buyer now and if they did not collect then i would let him know.
here is his response, which i thought was very dodgy.
Thanks for the swift response.Am ok with the condition,i will be buying it but i will like to tell you that i will be paying with a cashier's check which will include money for the item and the shipping charges and as for the pick up my shipper will come for the pick up at your location upon your confirmation of receiving the payment and i dont want you to negotiate this with any other buyer cos i really need it from you.i would have loved to come down for me to see it and pickup, but am not chance to do that now but am satisfy with your discription of it. i will like you to give me the following information so that your payment can be sent.................
1....your full name to be on the check
2..your full contact ad and phone number
thanks a lothope to do more business with you in the nearest future.
best regards
dave
i guess the scam would be for me to cash the cheque and then it bounces.
actually even worse. the scam is they give you a cheque already made out for way too much. you say its too much and after a conversation an agreement is reached that you give them the balance in cash/cheque back. then all seems well until 2mths later when the cheque bounces (even tough it cleared after 1wk). You lose the cheque value, the cash you gave them, the items they took.....0 -
I have set up a dummy property wanted ad using a fake name and set up an email address for this purpose. I would be interested in finding out what happens after you sign their agreement - all fake of course. I'm assuming they are trying to extract info to use for identity fraud. Does anyone else have any ideas what they are trying to do?0

Hi Skintandsad and others , To check a header on an e-mail in Outlook Express highlight the message in your in box , right click your mouse , select properties it then gives all the header info you need to track. In Mozilla Thunderbird highlight the message then select view\headers\all and it will show the headers. Other E-Mail clients have similar ways of checking but most follow one of the above ways. Hope that helps. Regards , Andy.0

Thanks for this Andy. I highlighted sender before opening the message, and right clicked as suggested. I was given an option of "view source" which brought up the information needed. This works for HOTMAIL.
You are indeed helpful and clever too :TI'm a nutter :j0 -

To be honest, you should leave this sort of thing to professional 419 baiters. Some of these groups tie into some pretty nasty crime gangs and they can be fairly annoyed if / when they find out they've been stitched up.
all these guys want is your money via Western Union or the like, they won't be interested in trying to take your identity. By carrying on the charade, don't forget that they could quite happily at this very moment be extracting a sizable amount of money from people that can't afford to lose it.
you should simply go here to report:

Alternatively (or additionally!) PM me the scammers instant messaging address and my friend will be able to have their IM account shut down permanently.0
