Possible scam - should I be wary?

I'm looking for a rental property and I received an email from someone with pix of almost too-good-to be true property in my favoured area. I have asked about a viewing and she wants my name and address to send an agreement, which I must sign BEFORE viewing the property. I have rented seven properties in London and I have never come across this before. Am I right to be wary?

Yep, sounds like a scam to me.0
-
Yes - exactly what is this agreement for? You are only going to view the property to see if it is suitable for you. Ask this person to send you a copy of the agreement via email, so you can review it.
Have you checked the email headers to see where the email was sent from?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
Anyone else come across this? She claims that it's because neither her or O/H are in London and can't do viewings... I'm not sure I buy this.0
-
Well it's a yahoo email - not a UK address. I can view the full header but I would not understand any of it. I have asked her to email a copy of the agreement.0
-
If they 'can't do viewings' what is the agreement for?
Next thing they'll ask for is some money to be sent by Western Union."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
The other thing that made me wary was the deposit. She asked for less than half a normal deposit, plus "security fees".0

This is starting to scream 'SCAM' - please cut and paste the full headers from the emails into this thread."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Sounds dodgy to me.0

Yeah, sounds like scam to me. How's she going to let you have the keys.
Though I'd ask them to send a copy of the agreement.
We could do a 419 Eater on them"Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.0 -
DHL apparently. I got a reply from her. It's very interesting. Shall I post it with names taken out?0
