Just opened one of these accounts using the switch service etc and now just checked my emails and they have sent me an email saying "We need you to visit one of our branches to show us some ID".
Anyone else that has opened one of these accounts had to do this ?

I haven't but it is likely nothing to worry about, a potential slight mismatch between the form and what is on credit reference or other files.

Dreadful. Hard to think they could kill them. Cattle are huge but big Jessies. Some folk :mad:0 -

Ppl also don't realise that the farmer is within their rights to shoot the dog. And it isn't the dogs fault its the owners. In work I had a woman ring up crying. She had parked up to let her dogs have a run around and they had bolted after sheep, she then told me they had done this before and killed several sheep. How stupid to just let them off in a field of sheepI have dyslexia, so get used to my spelling and grammarMortgage pay off date 11/2028. Target 12/2020 :rotfl:

That is a very grey area. Yes land owners do have circumstances where it's reasonable to shoot dogs who are worrying livestock. But Dog owners can have a comeback on it under the Animal Welfare Act which makes it an offence to cause suffering to protected animals.....which Dogs are. It can all come down to the difference between what the livestock owner and the dog owner think is reasonable and their interpretation of the circumstances.
That's not my view....just what the law says. In this case the livestock died so it's straightforward possibly. In a case where a dog is shot and has only been suspected of potentially causing harm its a whole different story.
It's not right to say farmers/landowners are within their rights to shoot dogs because that's not the case. It's by no means clear cut.
Nothing personal at all. Just saying anyone who does shoot a dog in those circumstances might face a lot of questions0 -
Just a quick heads up. Briefly popped in B&M's after eye test in Asda today. They have 4 tins of coconut milk for just £1 for 4 or 29p each.
I'm getting really good - eye test in Asda and I didn't even do a shop there - that has to be a first for me! Woo hoo!
The glasses there are really good & seem even cheaper than before. They now do ordinary glasses OR variafocals (at NO extra cost) in loads of styles 1 for £79 or £99 (may be £100?) for 2 pairs. They also do the designer ones & titanium for £100 1 pair or £159 for 2 pairs. Luckily I don't need glasses but hubby got 2 pairs of titanium variafocal with thin lenses (he has high prescription) one pair as sunglasses for £159. I remember his first titanium ones that were variafocal costing him over £200 in Turkey as here they were over £450 for same prescription.
I must admit I think Asda opticians are pretty good. The lady did all the extra tests for me as I'm diabetic & said 'you don't really need glasses, do you?' A change from 'normal' opticians who try and sell you a pair even if not needed. I fell out with my last optician (an ex boyfriend lol) who wanted me to buy glasses from him even though we both knew that my eyesight was just temporarily bad through my tablets being changed & my BP rising. By the time they came my eyes would have been back to normal and the glasses of no use to me.
Asda also do NHS ones and seemed like a good variety of ones for £40 for normal or variafocal.0
