I thought it would be a good idea to check and called hmrc

For an example spend £10 on goods and sell for less and you keep your receipts your making a loss it does not matter if it's cash or coupons and hmrc don't require you to register as a trader but I should keep a record of it. However if I buy loads of 2p items and then resell at a profit then that would be profit. So I'm happy with that. She also said that personal allowances would be offset out of profit.
I guess in the end its only a loss on paper because some of the transactions return a APG higher then you spend.
I work on a £6 to £8 back on a shop in selling. It costs me 20p to 80p per shop in most cases so.. a 700% profit margin is good. I have a few deals with a seller on amazon and she buys loads off me to sell on that site. People on amazon pay to notch for products from resellers.

Then again its easy to lose £10 on a failed shop. The amount of Carex shops I failed was huge. in the end I gave up.

Check out your local facebook groups, I sell all the time on the slough & London area.

Morning all. Hope everyone is well.

Be careful though Poppy as it's not a loss if it's 700% profit margin.

    Xx

    Good luck today.

Morning all. DS has been deposited at work. I feel like going back to bed, but will resist the temptation! Do other people feel exhausted all the time? I wake up feeling just as tired as when I went to bed, and am permanently knackered. :(

i used to be like that, totally exhausted by 9am! In fact I cut down my working hrs because of it. To cut a long story short it turned out I had an under active thyroid. All sorted now.

I'm glad you got it sorted. I've had various blood tests before and nothing showed up. Just think thats the way I am, have always been like it. DD is the same, she is 16 but regularly takes herself off to bed at 7, and sleeps for 12 hours (and I make her charge her phone/ipad outside her room, so she really is sleeping!). She is not a night owl at all, and has also had recent blood tests but nothing abnormal.

Because the system is daffy ducked. It appear to work on exact addresses so if you use 2 it has been working that you get 2 allowances.

So I’ve just been checking the household accounts before the start of the new month – we get paid every 28 days so at the moment our pay day is mid-month (the compensation for this is that one month in the year we end up being paid very early month after the DDs have gone out and then again very late in the month in time for the next months round of bills so it feels like a free month!)

I move nearly all of OHs salary into a savings account and then move it back a few days before the 1st so I have to work out how much to move back into the current account to cover the direct debits, credit card payments, savings etc.

I’ve just done a metre reading as we are now on a new fixed term contract, 1st payment in April. To my horror we were £80 in debit, always been in credit for the last 2 years. So I made a one off payment to put us back on the correct side again. Also whilst on the Scottish power website I found a page whereby you can jiggle your direct debit payments within certain limits, very useful for making your DD tidy– mine was £??.44 so I’ve now made it a neat exact amount 

I then set up OHs annual prescription pass DD – you can pay over 10 months £10.40 a month or the amount in one lump but as it costs no more then you might as well pay monthly.

And thinking about the monthly direct debits I realised this will be the first year for 3 years we are paying the water bill via DD. For the last two years I’ve used the !!!!!! 3V cards to pay off the bill and usually I had it cleared by May and often went slightly into credit so we didn’t need the DD.

The same with the sky bill, every time I got 3V cards I would add another £25 to the account so we have been in credit for almost 2 years so no need for the DD.

Sadly the 3V cards now seem to be very scarce and Ive not seen any this year yet.

So on the list of our direct debits we have now got 3 additional ones
    £10.40 prescription annual
    £22 – water
£50 – sky or thereabout depending on the calls
    Total £82.

OH had a new tax code sent to him last week (probably the first of many) and using the nifty MSE tax calculator code I worked out that we would have an extra £20 a week exactly :j

So that’s £80 a month which coincidentally is about the same as the new DDs

Deep sigh. I think we have reached the pinnacle now – never ever going to get any richer
Time to go and fill some bags to take to the food banks, count blessings and realise there is always someone worse off than you …

does anyone know if the tilda rice is working today......?

its not something we particularly use a lot of..we tend to just boil up what we need and occaisionally use frozen, but if its still on the glitch it works out slightly cheaper than our frozen stuff
