Quite a few now go out of Hull, Newcastle and Liverpool - Cunard, Fred Olsen, Cruise Maritime- its a big saving if you don't have to go all the way to Southampton or the London ports“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. we go down the night before and stay usually in West Quay Premier inn or sometimes Etap - if you keep watching the prices you can often get £39 a night.
Then dinner is in Ikea - Ikea is a novelty for us, OH is obsessed with meatballs. Breakfast is usually Greggs, eaten in the park, then a taxi to the dock. OK its not very flash but its suits us - plenty of glamour on the ships anyway. I am also the very worst worrier so it saves a whole world of pain
I have also heard people who drive down recommend the Holiday Inn Eastleigh, park, stay and go package - car parking while you are away, hotel and breakfast and it also includes a taxi to the port and a taxi back to the hotel afterwards - might be a good option if there is a crowd of you going altogether
If I am going to Southampton, I usually get the 5am train down, gets me there about midday, so enough spare time in case anything goes wrong/delays. It adds an element of risk to the day, which although isnt good, does excite me a little“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Morning online friends,
Long time no see. Hope everyone is keeping well.
I am on the verge of a breakdown thanks to the nasty neighbours. Why oh why oh why do they think it's normal to slam doors continuously all day every day. My nerves are so frayed and I have not had any proper sleep in such a long time, I have no idea if I am coming or going. Please can someone come and sort them out once and for all? BUBBS? TWEETS? QOC? Someone, please!
Anyway, went to BOOTS yesterday and there are shed loads of items on clearance/reduced to clear. I don't have the prices in my mind, but the products included TED BAKER / SANCTUARY / BURTS BEES minis and full sized products. Apparently, they are 75% off and some even have free gifts with a certain spend. For example, spend £10 on Sanctuary and get a free gift. Other items included NOURKRIN tablets for hair maintenance, loads of varieties of condoms, INHIBITIF products, various haircare minis including TONI + GUY, MARK HILL. GILLETTE razors are also on clearance, I think they have new packaging coming out. Some SUN TAN lotions also on clearance.
Most of the above items were on their normal shelves, but there was also a huge CLEARANCE stand too towards the back of the store. There were also loads of kid toys on clearance and some kids clothes also.
Anything happening at Asda APG wise to cheer me up?
Have a good day all.0 -

Was just looking at this myself and assuming they are the same ones even though the names differ....Actual name is Sparkling Lime and Lemon...MSM is Citrus Zest. They definitely appear to be the same. Oh well was going to get some more, but will have to make do with what I got. C'est la vie !0 -

That is so brave, I would never risk going down on the day, for the sake of my nerves and about £60 for the night before stay and meals.
Its not always the trains either that mess things up, I've been on ships that were delayed sailing waiting for passengers which were stuck in the Southampton road system, literally sat in taxis opposite the docks in grid locked traffic.
- if I told you even half of the bad train journey stories we have accumulated over the years you would never travel by train again.
Even coming home and travelling north - bus replacement services are fairly normal but once we came back and the lines were flooded beyond S so it was a terminal station, also the landslide beyond Oxford last time.
The very worst trip was one September we were beyond Oxford when there was an almighty bang. I looked at OH and said that wasn't good was it - it wasn't. We had hit a herd of cattle. We were stuck on that bit of track for 6 hours before our train was dragged back into Oxford. At 10 at night there were no trains going north or at least none beyond Birmingham so we ended up in Oxford at the Travelodge overnight “Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Morning everyone.
Don't know if anyone has tried BNI in Ts today but I noticed in As earlier that the curries are now £1.90 and the garlic flatbreads £1.50. One BNI deal will probably now generate a £3.20 pp.0 -
