So, whilst, for me, I have many items that are fairly consistent - Crisp n Dry 2L Veg Oil at £2 seems to be one of those - I'm dealing with the turmoil that some of the prices are in on a Monday.
I do not know what price the pork sausages are now on. The offer price, of 79p (and 10% off was better than that price that we thought was very good in Lidl:D) originally had an end date of two weeks ago. However, one of my stores still has 79p price on both the regular Pork and the Thick Irish Pork sausages - and, apparently, 79p is now the everyday price as they have the "eday price" sticking-out labels even though the 79p is a 'red bordered' price?!? Two other stores have clear £1.19 on both. I went to another store to check further - and ought not to have done, as now have 79p on both there:(:rotfl:, so two against two and unable to find any majority to go with (not that it has any relevance). I'll therefore go and use m.com to make a decision, although I don't trust that to be accurate either - and, with half my stores showing 79p and half £1.19, this may suggest this may be pot-luck as to what the APG might have.
The Eristoff vodka appears to have gone (it was a one-week 'special purchase') but there are other 1L drinks on £15 (not that that might be good - Malibu 1L is on £13 and that's apparently a high price as I last saw it cheaper than that elsewhere). There are several 10x440ml cans packs (not Scotland) on any 4:eek: for £20, which I think is way too much even though it's at my price level (of £10 for 20x440). Unfortunately, I don't think mix and match of more varieties would work - the more different ones used the more risky it is (it would only take one to have missed the M offer on the system and they would all return full price:() - no matter how prominent the offer is in M. They (the APG) could surprise me though.
Can someone tell us what the offer on these cans packs is in M in Scotland? Wondering whether they might have them on straight £5 there and whether it would therefore be best to nip to Scotland to buy a pack and not have to spend £15:eek: more. I'll doubtless clarify which I mean on the M list once I get to the update.
The Cadbury Twinpots are apparently off (not that they were really on in the first place for APG) - my stores showing just straight price though that means absolutely nothing as usual so will double-check vs m.com.
The offers on a lot of the baby products - wipes and creams appear, for me, to be store-specific at the moment as only one of my stores has ever put any offers on:(. Though they have got them on almost every item in that section. (Careful though: there is one version of Pampers Wipes that is on £1 and not 50p that the others are on.) Unfortunately I'm taking it as store-specific despite the large number of clear half price offers throughout the aisle, as no other store for me has bothered to put the offers onto the shelving. If they are on general offer, the other stores had better hurry up as the offer is supposed to be ending on 4th April:(. I suspect APG will continue to return full price, though these are items to watch on wombles to see if they go half price for M. Yet the Johnson's Baby Lotion Pink 500ml is now on separate half price and both my main stores show that, but one of the other stores not showing any of the baby wipes on half price has the Johnson's lotion also at full price which is clearly wrong, so maybe they just haven't changed anything at all in the baby aisle in that store yet:(. Just not got round to it as still in a turmoil on the Monday.
Otherwise, the Minced Pork 525g - which was £1 last week (I didn't see much stock:rotfl:, but I did use a second store to confirm that price as it seemed way too low) - is now £2.99! Nearly tripled in price! The £1 offer was way too good.
And the Old Spice Deo, been on £1.49 RTC, is now £2 and I've never spotted any stock-out on any of my Mondays or Wednesdays. Seems, tentatively, to have been in stock throughout and never "cleared" at all, although it is possible it could have gone OOS at some point around the weekend. Anyway, whether they got rid of it or not, its price is now £2:(. If they don't get rid of it though and still have stock when it is, one moment, £1.49 RTC and, the next, £2, it does seem to me, IMO, that that is not a genuine clearance price. They've not cleared it and have put the price up to £2 when it is still not yet gone. In one of my stores, they now even have a crossed out £2.70 and a £2 price, even though, if you look underneath that "offer" label, you can see the SEL ticket showing the previous £1.49 price
. This may misleadingly suggest that the price has been reduced to £2, when in fact it has increased from £1.49 (supposedly "RTC") last week and that price last week might mean it cannot possibly have been a higher price for a minimum of two weeks in between. Except that I may have missed something and be totally wrong and we haven't heard what M's response to this is.
The Airwick Candles appear to be off, except in one store where just one version appears to have been left at £2. One shopper whilst I was looking at it, took one of them to buy. I thought "you'd better check you really are charged £2", although, as usual, I didn't say so as I'd always be misunderstood if I tried to say anything to any other customer so I don't even bother to try - I doubt it though: I bet they're all full price!
I have some more non-grocery items, though I also don't see why I should act as an advertising board for Mr M (or indeed for any other store, though I suspect our sharing of bargains usually does that anyway). You won't find every item in one M store: the Bartolene filler 450g pack at 48p, I now found no trace of in either of my main stores instead just a different pack size now at more expensive cost:( - however it is now in one of my smaller stores.
As for new items - the SP Red Kidney Beans tin - I know they have gone to N/A and are currently returning that, they might go back to 23p on the update. Now back in two stores, but first one still hasn't bothered to put any price label back:rotfl::(. Tildas:rotfl: are on 79p in M. Some Pataks at 88p (but they are 450g:( not 500g - I think my price guide nowadays requires 79p or below on 500g) - I doubt it'll make the list and only one penny cheaper than the M own brand on (IMO) expensive eday price.
M own brand Choc Chip Cake Bar is suddenly back:mad:, same eday price as before, but not as good as Hopper's version price at straight M price. Corned Beef mbuy is off (it seems:rotfl:, all I have to go by now is the lack of mbuy display in my stores that don't always display mbuys on every mbuy offer). Individual own brand pies are back and are 3 for £1.50 on the majority of stores - but my bigger main store hasn't put an mbuy display back yet:rotfl:. Pukka Pies are off (now £1.85:eek:). Sugar Puffs (hopefully Tvs, as hope T is full price) are on £1.62, although these half price offers nowadays aren't as good as the old half price offers of £1.24 a while ago, and now don't come near to my 20p/100g guide. Oust Descaler is £1, but I think we use cheaper vinegar and something else in kettles. Banks Bitter 500ml is £1, but I only collect £1s on low volume 500mls in case of some glitch elsewhere, so no good if it's a straight price.
Lots more as usual. A bit 'bitty' this time as a few on and a few off. Carex 250ml (don't know if that's still going, on and on and on:D, as I'm out of the loop again) - some going to 90p in M, maybe if you want the 'other ones' and no guarantees - M has Cola, Bubblegum and Strawberry Laces only at 90p.
I still have the Lyons Battenberg, that comes in on 'special purchase', in one of my stores but I can't be bothered to keep it on the list really if they can't be bothered to maintain a price SEL on it. No idea therefore - I don't take anything for scan, as already scanned that in the past only to change my mind:eek::rotfl: - although I can't remember the last time I saw it at full price (£1.49). Meanwhile, Kiplings 5 Mini Battenburgs, that have been total no trace in my two main stores, although they still worked on the APG so obviously their stores are different, are now back in both my main stores - but :(showing full price in both of them. Other store still has them at half price and with end date until sometime in April, but, even with that, I've no idea of knowing if the offer has been pulled early and that store has failed to change its SEL - maybe the two main stores at full price are correct. Then again, I see Terry's Choc. Orange at £2.75 in one main store but, clearly wrong, as it's at (no good!:D) £1 in the other; so, clearly, one main store has got at least one other item showing wrongly full price, so maybe the Kipling Battenbergs are too?
Who can tell; I suspect if we went to any supermarket chain we would find the similar situations to these sorts of things in those. It's simply that they either have not got round to changing all the prices or that they have yet to change some prices on items that are now expired.
Anyway, I'm left to guess the best prices again:rotfl::rotfl:. Make my best guesses, alright;). McV Jamaica and Ginger Cake are off btw, and the WW Slices also appear to be off:rotfl:. Can't use my second main store to verify that, as it's been showing £1.30 for four weeks already:rotfl:, though my two 'lesser' stores each had £1.30 only today! So, 4 out of 4!:D They're off. Most probably:rotfl:. Don't know why I'm laughing as it's no good! Quorn Low Fat Sausages (336g) at 99p. I think that's it to mention - but more later on the list, as usual!0 -
God. My 2 dogs are STILL playing! I'll put pics up tomorrow of the mess!! But oh my god, it's so lovely to see them together. It's like they've missed each other all their lives.0
