When codes are accepted at the website but not honoured when shopping is delivered, what happens then? If you call up to manually ask for the code to be applied, what's the best 'excuse'? What works?

Can you send the groceries back, citing the reason that you don't agree with the change of contract? Just planning ahead.... only an hour or so ahead, so if anyone has any fast answers.... ;)

    Good question ajaxgeezer,

When this happens to be and to be honest this has happened once I just put it down to experience.

Unless you where sent the code direct then I would not bother calling them,

We got to remember that these codes we are using are not sent to us all.

Some we win and some we don't

I had used the 1000 pts. voucher with success, at least I thought so  The points had been added to my total on the delivery sheet (this has been a couple of weeks ago) and also show up on the till receipts in store.

Today though, I received my clubcard mailing and they were no where to be found! The mailing states that these are my points up until the 29th of July so they should have been included . . . does it ever take this long, or should I get in touch with customer services?

All the points I earned in around the last 10 days before the points were reset were carried over to the next quarter, even though there was enough to get me past the minimum for a voucher issue.

The first time I noticed the points were zero (not actually zero but the bulk gone) was last Monday, the day that my statement arrived.

Therefore I do not think you have a problem here, just that you were awarded the points in the interim period from where your balance was taken for the purposes of issuing vouchers for the last quarter, prior to the actual zeroing which happened at the weekend.

After all its a bit much to ask for all points up to Sunday to be awarded in a mailing that arrives on Monday! Therefore there must be some crossover period where the balance was taken but not reduced on the receipts.

I think this is a new thing because I remember in previous quarters the points disappeared from my receipts long before I got the statement, with a note at the bottom of the receipt to say that points had been removed up to a certain date for the new mailing.

I'll keep all of the revelant info together and wait for the next mailing, hopefully they'll show then - otherwise it's on to customer services! :D

This happened once to me with a wine code. When I emailed customer services they asked for evidence that I had been sent the code - they asked me to forward a copy of the email I had been sent with the code on it or to scan the e coupon I had been sent and email it to them. I think it's worth hanging on to coupons / saving emails till after the points have definitely gone onto your account just in case!

I notice that some people have HUGE amounts of tesco points.....how do you do this??? I have just opened an account in my dh name so I can use codes twice, I don't want to open false accounts as I think this may speed up the process of Tesco clamping down on us all....

My shopping each week is £50 - £60 so always use codes for these and if there are any 1000 points on £75 spends I bulk order pet food and frozen to bump up total.....BUT I am hoping to pay for a holiday next year so really really want to increase points balance..

  • Hi, hope some someone can help me.

I signed up to Tesco DVD Rental in May after receiving a voucher code for an extra 1000 points. Since it's done through Love Film who I have previously been signed up to, I signed up my Mum with her name and address, but obviously using my email address, bank and clubcard details. There was a two week free trial and then you had to make at least one months payment to receive the points. I cancelled after the first month payment had been made.

Just received my clubcard August statement this morning and the points haven't been added. Phoned up Tesco to query this and they're saying there was never any clubcard associated with the account and that the points are gone, can't be added and there's nothing they can do.

Has this happened to any one else? Or has anyone managed to retrieve "lost" points from any other Tesco purchases? Any suggestions for complaint procedure would be welcome as well, thanks.
  • Has everyone (or even anyone) had their points for the car insurance quote (500) and the health insurance quote (200)?

Were we told they would be credited to the November statement? Or am I imagining it?

Does Anyone know if when tesco are doing their petrol offer if online customers should get the money off voucher with their reciept.
    Many Thanks
  • Just done an online shop using 1000 extra pointer of course ;) also tried to use extra points for bakery and dairy that came with my vouchers but it wont accept it  says you can only use one xx code per transaction which of course is my 1000 point one. If this is the case I would surely be better to get the extra points ones that you use in the actual shop? Or am I missing something?
