Halfords Stirling damaged my car during an MOT

Normally you need to pull it gently to check for cracks and tears but if the rubber is old it can tear from this gentle pull from becoming weak.
I'm not saying it is or isn't an accident or on purpose but i can't see them damaging it on purpose. If you could see the inspector performing the test from where you were it would seem a bit risky to damage them on purpose.
The advisory for the windscreen and headlight crack are optional. There is no obligation for the MOT inspector to mention them.
I managed to check it before it left the house without ripping it to shreds and even used it in the rain to get to the garage, it takes months for that kind of damage to occur and you can see on the blade that its not perished along all the part ripped apart from the very end on one side.0 -
I'd install a dash cam in that case, or else watch closely at the next test center you go to.
If i remember correctly all MOT stations must have a viewing area. All your base are belong to us.0 -

Yip that's my plan and the main one is I'll be taking it somewhere that isn't called Halfords Autocentre Stirling0 -
Nope wipers were fine because I checked them before I left the house for the MOT centre, I've also had the other one independently checked by another garage and its fine too.
Of course they should be struck off that's malicious damage to private property, they are lucky I haven't called the police (yet) The MOT is a safety test and by doing what they did they made my vehicle unsafe. Dodgy garage wont be going back there ever.
Without proof, what would you hope to achieve?0 -

"Hello, Police what is your emergency please.."
OP: "Well, I took my car for an MOT and the tester ripped my wiper blades.."

Yip you may laugh and I've learnt my lesson I wont be returning to a Halfords Autocentre again and I'll be discouraging everyone I know to avoid them especially the one in Stirling0 -
Additionally to this damaged wiper they have also failed the other wiper, which is fine - did I came into the office at the wrong time? Who knows.
They have also failed the rear discs, which Ive had independently checked as a pass. The car is going for another MOT today soif its passes then its proof that this Halfords Autocentre is just out to rip people off - damaged wiper blade or not.
The MOT is a legal requirement its not meant to be a 2 bit test that allows some cowboy garage the opportunity to rip you off. If it was in for a service I could maybe excuse what has been done but it wasn't, it was in for a government standard road worth test and the Halfords Autocentre in Stirling made the vehicle un-roadworthy.0 -
Did it pass then?0
