I've been caught out with this in the way that others describe and have submitted a fraud report to actionfraud.police.uk. I shall feel foolish if the item now appears!!0

I can't believe I was so naïve - I too ordered a Magimix coffee maker £118 from these sharks on their website. Card services were problematic so they emailed and asked for a bank transfer to which I promptly complied!!! I even got a shipping email and another saying it would be with me in 3 days - just enough time to stall and ensure the payment wasn't recalled.
I'm just about to ring Action Fraud - I don't expect my money back - I'm just about to order another from John Lewis £21 more than the non-existent Clevedons appliance but thanks to my naivety it'll have cost me £260 in total - I'll put it down to experience.
Hope this thread gains Top Ratings to prevent further fraud!!0 -
I was caught as well. Ordered a microwave oven, price was too good to be true, should have realised. Have reported to Police Fraud0

We also have been scammed buying a Nespresso Lattissima last week. £124. I hope we can get some money back.
Good luck everybody0 -
Hi everyone,
I saw this site last week and tried to order a microwave. I received an email saying the card terminal was down so put money into their Barclays Bank Account. This seemed a little odd and I didn't do it. A couple of days later, after exhausting all websites, looking for the same cheap deal, I came back to Clevedons and was able to purchase online using my debit card.
When I made the purchase I took a screen shot of the invoice and kept it. Upon not receiving a customary invoice from tye company, via email, I became suspicious and emailed the company. I actually received a response from a James Clevedon. He appologised for not sending the invoice and assured me the item would be with me this Monday. However, Thursday today and no goods.
So, I emailed the company this morning and tried the website. The website is no more and the email came back. I spoke to my bank, Natwest, who tell me they've been inundated with calls from their customers about the same company. However, I am the ONLY one who didn't have money taken from my account because I chose to pay online rather than pay to Barclays Bank. According to the chap I spoke to, if you paid via debit card online the fraud team WILL reimburse their customer. However, if you pay via the Barclays Bank option the bank is under no obligation to reimburse owing to the customer making the payment willingly rather than funds being taken from them by the scam artist. This is a very sorry state of affairs, especially bring told that after fielding more than 100 calls from their customers, Natwest said I'm the only fortunate one.
I still cancelled my card, to be in the safe side. It is a very shocking thing that this can happen and I only hope Barclays WILL help people who have lost out to these scumbags.0 -
I too feel like a fool, I purchased a Kenwood chef premier for £191 and was supposed to arrive today. horrible horrible people, stealing hard earned money from innocent people. lessons learned..... only buy or go to currys or any other reputable company!!! feeling sad and calling the police fraud department tomorrow. I hope we all get our money back!!0

Hi everyone,
I'm another one. Bought a microwave at £124.99, paid with American Express and received an email short after saying there was a problem on the payment system inviting me to pay via bank transfer on a Barclays UK account. I did it, and nothing arrived. Now today the website of this scammer (clevedons.co.uk) is a blank page showing just "Sorry...". Emails are pushed back (550 No Such User Here).
I'm calling right now Barclays, my bank (HSBC), and report the case to ActionFraud. I'll also call the office centre where this guy said was located and his web hosting provider, both are UK based.
I think we need to be quick and make all together, thanks to this thread that is already wery well ranked on Google, a big fuss in order to catch this scammer. Anyone with more information on this matter, please enter the discussion and contribute on this thread.
EDIT: his phone number 0117-230-1884 isn't working now.
EDIT2: he was listed on Google Shopping UK, I trusted the big G. I'll try to contact them as well as with their listing they induced me to make this very wrong purchase.
EDIT3: to submit a complain ticket on his UK web hosting provider, this is the url https/ support.namecheap.com/index.php?/Tickets/Submit/, selecting "Hosting - Legal and Abuse".

His website is based in UK, I am sure as I can be (37.61.233.213). Not sure why this lady from abuse@namecheaphosting.com answered me like that, involving https/ complaint.ic3.gov, that is basically the american FBI. Anyway I filed a report there, and to ActionFraud.Police.uk too. Everyone victim of this scam should raise the voice and report his case everywhere possible.
