Thank you Leafeysurrey! I'm always interested in free money! That's a pretty good 0% balance transfer fee too!

I only recently opened a FD account (switch incentive) and to gain access to their regular saver. Not opened a RS yet, but applied for the CC and I have been rejected.....

is it bad to apply, and cancel a few months later when you have the incentive? not too sure if its worth the effort

Did First Direct say why it was rejected? I have been with First Direct for over 15 years now. The good thing I like about FD you can speak with their Lending Dept/underwriters directly and they will tell you reasons for the declined.

It may be because it is a new account but I am sure you will be able to appeal against the decision with previous bank statements.

Not at all I applied for a gold card yesterday but I will keep it, for at least 17 months anyway interest free on purchases for that long.
