Prostitution in my area.

Hi,

I have some obvious prostitution happening on the corner of my road which seems to be a perfect place for them.

I have looked out the window tonight and seen three being picked up and it seems to be getting worse.Very obvious.I can't believe there being picked up within 15 mins.

I can see the cars number plates but don't want to start a turf war/my car vandalised etc..

Any ideas as I don't even trust the police to report and give name and reg etc. Sorry but I don't feel comfortable giving my name.

If you won't go to the police or other agencies, how do you imagine this might be resolved? Shame the men funding this business cannot be publicly named and shamed. If it was down my road I would probably take car numbers and publicise them on Facebook.

Try the local paper first and then police will probably be more "sympathetic" to residents second is what I would think.

Reporting it to the paper is a risky strategy for anyone about to sell a home in the area concerned. However, even in those circumstances, its worth taking a gamble that all the brouhaha and fuss of removing them will be "done and dusted"/area back to normal in time for would-be buyers to forget it used to have that problem in the past.

Press would probably make the problem worse. No publicity is bad publicity. If it makes the papers that hookers work your area expect an explosion of kurb crawlers

Report it anonymously to police. Don't report to paper, why publicise that.

The police will almost certainly already be aware that it's happening, but if you report it then at least they can be seen to be responding to residents' complaints. Councillors and/or MPs would be another possible avenue.

If you want anything done about it you have to complain to the police. If they dont get complaints they wont do anything about it. You can withhold your name but expect it to be given low priority if you do. The other way is to ask your local Councillor to pass the information to the police for you.

If you are not prepared, as a good citizen, as is your duty, to report suspected criminal activity(**) to the Police either directly or via. Crimestoppers then you have no right to expect anything to be done about.

Come on, behave as a citizen & help everyone! I am sure the Police& Council would be grateful for your help.
