This is one time i agree with zandoni....dont shop at superdry, shop somewhere that will refund if it doesnt fit
Sorry I should've said it was at sports direct, not the superdry, this thread came up when I searched for it, better post on the right thread now :-) no way I'd be paying superdry prices!0 -
I will probably add fuel to the Fire. I have purchused a 7-8 years size snowsuit for my 6y.o only to find out that it fits him now and will be far too small for the winter, he wasn't with me at the time to try it on, but surely it was meant to fit him. Anyway, so today I had a very 'heated' discussion with the manager, who point blank refused me a refund, and of course couldn't give me a different size. They offered me a gift card, which is no use to me, because I don't shop there, in rage I just snatched the snow suit back and walked out if the store, I have never done anything like that in my life and was really surprised how far she had pushed me. 'It's not fit for purpose' does not entitle me to a refund as 'all companies have different sizing'. So how are you meant to buy anything for a kid as a present, knowing that it might not fit?
Simple - you buy from a shop which offers gift receipts.0 -

Ask before you purchase. Im guessing you didn't.
Too many people automatically assume they can take an item back without checking what the shops policy is - then have a go at the poor shop staff because they didn't do their homework.
Is there any particular reason why you didnt accept the gift card and then purchase the correct size whilst you was still in the store?I have purchused a 7-8 years size snowsuit for my 6y.o only to find out that it fits him now and will be far too small for the winter, he wasn't with me at the time to try it on, but surely it was meant to fit him.
But it does fit him now! Its just the case that it wont fit him in 8 months time, which is perfectly understandable.0 -
Age does not relate to size.
My grandson is 3 but wears clothes for 2 years old.0 -

That's not what "not fit for purpose" means. The item is presumably perfectly fit for its purpose as a snowsuit. You just bought the wrong size.0 -
I've never understood why folk do this. Kids are not all the same size, adults aren't either. A size 14 in primark will vary wildly from a size 14 in top shop. A 2-3 year old shirt won't fit every 2-3 year old.
The hassle you'd save simply by taking a few minutes to try stuff on far outweighs the hassle of the argument returning it.0 -

Dont even need to try it on! Can literally just hold it up to their back.
For tops you put the shoulder seam up to where it would sit on their shoulders (to check the length) and then round at the sides to check size that way. trousers go above the bum, check thigh width and length.
Immensely helpful if the kids are a bit tired/hungry and playing up. Can get in and out quickly without having to wrangle them into the fitting roomsYou keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

"Fit for purpose" does not mean correct fit
It means is the snow jacket 'fit' for wearing in snow, not whether it will 'fit' your son
Hence the shop are not obligated to take it back, not even obligated to give you a voucher, which you should have grabbed with both hands
That said it wouldn't of hurt them to keep a customer happy for the same of a few quid profit which is why high profile companies tend value good customers more than their legal rightsWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -

But....you did shop there. And in 8 months time, you'll need a snowsuit that fits. Why not just take the gift card and buy a snowsuit for a 9-10 year old?0
