    For the flights I entirely agree, however for hotels often websites like eBookers, Hotels.com or Otel offer good topcashback on the same prices as going direct.

    i go the other way.

    having been to new york 6 times each time i have priced up the options not using an agent and each time the cheapest option seems to be going through expedia, adding nectar points and cashback too.

    the only time i havent gone down this route is my last trip when i used my virgin miles to book my flights and then used expedia for the hotel
