If it's still within 6 years of the "offence" don't be surprised if this resurfaces, especially given the Beavis result.

Just an update to this thread - I'm going to court next week! I've fought this thing as long as I could but will now come to a conclusion. Doubtfully in my favour either but at least they've had to wait nearly 3 years to collect a couple of hundred quid!
I'm far more diligent when it comes to parking now so I won't be caught out again.

    Hi
Recent i had the misfortune of parking on the Peel centre car park. I paid for a ticket, after ten minutes i came out of the shop and there was a ticket on my car. I am disabled hold a blue badge i simply forgot to place it on the dash. !!! soon !!! I got home i went on-line appeald sent photographic evidence of the blue badge and driving licence showing my face on both items, also a picture of the car park ticket. Today i received an email telling me my appeal had failed and i had to pay a £60 fine for failing to display my blue badge. It said i could appeal to the independent appeal service. I was totally outraged there's more chance of me parking my car on the moon than me paying them £60.

The UK Government says the blue badge scheme does not apply on private land. The unregulated parking industry just wants your money and will say and do anything, including telling lies, to get it.
