Whats the effing point if the scheme is "voluntary" for the airlines?
Is the proposed ombudsman also going to fine airlines that repeatedly abuse customers' rights over 261/2004?
Legal recourse will be perfectly satisfactory back up, once all the little wrinkles have been settled at CoA or SC level. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
The alleged Ringleader.........0 -
The CAA is now welcoming applications from organisations interested in setting up ADR schemes ahead of implementation of an ADR Directive in July.
Do you think we should apply, JP?0 -
We could offer consultancy services....
What's the point? It's all too little and too late, we seem to have made it ourselves through the storm without any help from the CAA.
We've only our friends at Bott to thank for taking the Huzar and Dawson case as high as the SC and of course a few Judges like Platts and Jenkinson to name a few.
With the worst over and most airlines paying compensation, dare I say it, even J2 and without legal action! That's something that I though I'd never say. I don't see the point in yet another toothless tiger, the current Court system is now adequate and its us that have made it so.
I do accept that there are challenges yet still to resolve mainly surrounding the two year limitation argument and of course multi hop scenarios.
The posts in here are getting fewer, and it looks like we're finally heading for the long grass. Our time is almost up dear friends, almost time my angel wings were clipped and retired...... I feel sad, but a job well done. So well done all
Cheers,
NoviceAngelAfter reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

Apart from those of us, and it's been reported it's 2/3 of the backed up Jet2 claims, who are still fighting the two-year time-bar.0 -

Novice, you mean we can all retire soon? :j
There'll be something else I'm sure of it, don't turn off those auto alert e mails yet....Successfully sued Ryanair in 2013/14...and have been 'helping' litigants since then.
Current known score:-
Dr Watson 35 - 0 Ryanair / Ince and Co
Go to post 622 on the Ryanair thread to read how to sue them safely.0 -
I was delayed over 7 hours with ryanair. Complete and utter horror at Gatwick at the way we were treated and now I am denied compensation because they claim it was an "extraordinary circumstance". Despite many rulings right up to the European Court of Justice, Michael O'Leary - Ireland's richest businessman - still refuses to accept that he must pay compensation. The CAA takes 3 weeks to respond to complaints then does nothing, the small claims court charges you but ryanair still won't pay. No wonder their profits are 30% up this year. It is a disgrace.0

spursliz - refer to Dr Watson's posts on the Ryanair thread. Follow his advise to receive your compensation or if you don't fancy taking on Mr O'Leary and reducing his bank balance then use a NWNF - you won't receive as much but Mr O'Leary will still be out of pocket for the same amount.0
