You are so helpful, obviously I am not worthy of taking up so much of your time. Perhaps you have some others to help on here, I am sure they will be grateful.0

My spare cables are belkin and griffin, both from tesco, still working fine after 18 months.0

Wilkinsons do a compatible lightening cable for around £3.00 that was the only one that would work with my daughters iPod, pound shop lightening cables wouldn't charge it.0

It does seem a bit rotten that cables aren't lasting for you. Can you pre-empt their weak points and use your own heat-shrink or even electrical tape or even vet wrap built up in layers to shore up that vulnerable section of cable? My wife kills micro USB cables at a rate I can't compete with, but of all things, vet wrap has been the most helpful in increasing their lifespan. Or if you can find some sugru in a hardware shop, that could be good too.0

Wow people love to bash Apple instead of answering the question eh?
I've got about 12 Lightning cables (all originals) and none have ever gone bad; are you using genuine chargers? If not they can be really really dangerous.
Try out the Amazon Basics lighting cables, about £7 - £10 depending on the length.0 -

In my experience the Belkin ones are of a better build quality than the Apple ones, I still have a couple of pound shop ones that do the job when I go away.0 -
Thanks for the replies, much appreciate it. I have ordered a few of the Amazon ones. And will try that apple email thing. Will update this with some feedback on the Amazon cables.0
