Sorry to jump in on this thread but I received a NIP yesterday for an offence on 21/2/15. The paper letter is dated 19/3/15.
I've looked at the notice on line and that is the same except it's dated 24/2/15.
I bought the car on 21/2, the date of the alleged offence and assumed that they'd had problems identifying the keeper but the on line copy would suggest not?? So it appears it's taken them nearly 4 weeks to send the letter.
Did we get caught on the same camera OP?0 -

You need to be looking at the date of issue on your V5, I doubt you have a defence.0 -
The only likely date I can find is at the bottom of the second page under official use only - is this right? - and it is dated 2/3/15 which sounds about right - so still 17 days??0

But after the date of the offence, how can they possibly be expected to serve the nip on you when it wasn't registered to you?0 -
So why does the copy of the notice online have a date of 24/2/15 with my name and address on it?0

I still don't get the 'new driver nominated on 19/3/2015' bit????! So to clarify-provide my info on/after 2/4/15-THEN contest date?0
