Thanks for putting the letter up, your letter is the same as what I got. At least it does make me less scared to know that it is a generic letter.
I remember when the car parks used to have a man that went around and put the car registration into a hand held machine that used to print out tickets if cars overstayed at places. Then into a yellow bag and on the windscreen.0 -
You are over thinking this. It doesn't matter whether parking lie have a picture of your car or Thomas the Tank Engine in their letter, as long as you don't contact them you are bomb proof in Scotland.
Do not worry, the regulars on here have been doing this for years. Trust them.
Ignore anything and everything you get, whether it is from parking lie or debt collectors. They can do nothing because they don't know who was driving.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Yes, I probably am over thinking this, just I have never had this before and the letter looked scarily real so thought I'd best check so I know what could happen etc.
Your change of name from 'parking eye' to 'parking lie' did make me chuckle lol
Thanks everyone.0 -

It is a well documented fact that parking lie have told lies for financial gain in the past.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Hi, I've been reading PE threads over the last few months as my mother received a PE claim for a Morrison's Car Park. She's in Scotland and the advice was to ignore it. She's received some threatening letters and even a Final Demand (clearly visible through the envelope) which is clearly harassment. Anyway, she has now received a Debt Recovery Plus Letter demanding even more money or Court Action will be taken.
She is beside herself with worry and is beginning to want to respond i.e. acknowledge the debt exists/accept liability. Not helped by the fact she is 78 and currently waiting for a cancer diagnosis.
In my opinion PE are seeking to secure money by fraudulent means and even under the Fraud Act 'obtaining money by deception' or 'obtaining pecuniary advantage'. I also believe Morrisons have breached their duty of care to her as a Customer in contracting out this parking 'service' knowing private parking penalty tickets are unenforceable in Scotland.
I'd appreciate your views as she has until the end of this month to respond.0 -
Email Morrisons Head Office 'contact us/complaints' (see their website) and they'll cancel it. Or ring Morrisons Head Office, insist it's cancelled. They do these all the time and the first advice is always to complain to the retailer.
This could have been cancelled on day one by Morrisons as they are so up for it/very helpful and are stupidly stuck with ParkingEye for years at most stores. One email and these are gone.
P.S. she did not get a claim - don't use that word when complaining.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You're panicking over nothing. The letter will say "court action MAY be taken or solicitors will be instructed to obtain immediate payment".
1/ They wont know who to sue. DRP cannot sue anyway. Technically, neither can Parking Eye as they have suffered no loss nor own the land.
2/ immediate payment off who? They don't know who to sue.
File the letters. I've been there myself with this lot. And do NOT contact either Parking Eye, DRP or the Shop Manager, contrary to advice given on here. You'll drop yourself in it by accident. Sit tight, Scottish law is on your side on this one.0
