Presumably you are going to a coastal resort?
If so as government advice is that there isn't a problem.

So you won't get any money back.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -
The travel agent will only offer a refund / alternative destination if the FCO travel advice for your destination changes to advise against travel.
At the moment, the only areas of Tunisia where the FCO advises against travel is predominantly those around the borders with Algeria and Libya.
People expressed similar concerns about Egypt a few years back. However, the main tourist resorts (such as Sharm el Sheikh) were largely unaffected.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Often the safest time to go places is immediately after there has been an incident as security is incredible.
You also find that places don't tend to get attacked more than once (LONDON, pARIS, MADRID) as security is so tight they look elsewhere to softer targets.
The gunmen are dead and so in your hotel I would say Tunisia is safer right now than a lot of places.0 -
I'm usually quite level headed about things like this, and would not normally worry. After all, there's no guarentee of 100% safety anywhere.
However, what concerns me about this attack is that it set out to deliberately target tourists. This would make me think that actually, the normally safe and out if the way tourist resorts could become
targets for similar attacks. I feel for you having to decide what to do. Would be gutted to lose the money!0 -
Personally I wouldn't be able to relax and enjoy the holiday especially if kids were with me. It's not just the resort, it's the airport as well which could be targeted. However I know others would go and not really worry. It's very much personal choice.0

Personally, I've steered away from booking to any countries where these religious murderers/extremists exist for many years, ever since a girlfriend of mine was almost blown up on a bus in Nairobi, Kenya. As you are booked and I assume not taking children, I would go, but be extremely vigilant.0

In all honesty, I think I'd go on the holiday, but trips outside of the resort would be out of the question. What alarms me is the high number of casualties from one particular cruise ship...a cruise I considered going on as the travel agent rate plummeted to £99 per person. What put me off was reading the FCO advice for the ports of call.
To be honest, with lived with a constant threat from the IRA for dcecades and I see this as a lesser threat. Just be vigilant.0 -
I think about security wherever I go nowadays that is a tourist area, even London. However, I refuse to let the fear of a very slight chance of something happening rule my enjoyment of travelling and entertainment. So if I were you, I would go and enjoy the holiday knowing that if risk is not free, the chances of something happening where you are going are extremely slim.0

Are you worrying about being killed or injured in your car on way to airport in this country? More likely than being impacted by a terror attack in Tunisia.0
