Personally I wouldn't be able to relax and enjoy the holiday especially if kids were with me. It's not just the resort, it's the airport as well which could be targeted. However I know others would go and not really worry. It's very much personal choice.
If you can't relax then there is little point going. However, if having made the decision to go, you are able to distance your thoughts from terrorism and enjoy your holiday, I would still go.
We went to Israel last Summer, decided we would stick to our plans and a ceasefire was declared within 3 days of our arrival.I think about security wherever I go nowadays that is a tourist area, even London. However, I refuse to let the fear of a very slight chance of something happening rule my enjoyment of travelling and entertainment. So if I were you, I would go and enjoy the holiday knowing that if risk is not free, the chances of something happening where you are going are extremely slim.
I feel the same, and living near the London the risks of something happening here are potentially higher. But on an individual level, the chances of anyone being in the wrong place at the wrong time are low.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. But if either I hadn't yet booked, or fully intended to get out and about into the real Tunisia, then I'd have severe reservations, at least until the dust on this latest atrocity has settled.
I sense a tourist hostage/kidnap on the horizon. But hope I'm wrong!
Oh great thanks for that last little gem it really helped0 -

What did you do with your time? Cocoon yourselves up in your tourist resort, or get out and about and experience a bit of real Tunisia?
If the latter, was there much of a uniformed and armed security presence?
Any problems getting through Enfidha Airport, or with transfers?0 -
we have been several times to Tunisia this time security was higher and police all had bullet proof vests on over shirts even in Yasmin resort no bother getting through enfidha airport and we had booked a private transfer so had no problems with them either
will say that hotel had lots of stuff on for free which we had to pay for last time like the theme park tickets, belly dancing show and meal in madina and half price trip to Tunis to see the sights the latter we declined. our waiter who remembered us from last time said don't go to Tunis as it's very busy at the moment
I would go back.
