Vodafone Spotify Premium - Not Working
Comments

I'm having exactly the same issue since I upgraded in the summer. No joy out of Voda, but its the tip of the iceberg with them - they overcharged me for Eurotraveller not working and now keep failing to collect the DD on the day due, then bombarding me with phone calls/texts for 'non payment'. I've been a customer for over 20 years, I've never known their service to be so poor.0

Shame they can't apply it as a credit to an existing Premium account like they do with Netflix.0

Essentially the same issue here - unresolved since October 2015. Had a 24 month Red contract with Spotify working perfectly. Renewed on another Red contract and there's no longer a free option through the 'Entertainment' link - just a £10-a-month option.
Took a day off work to resolve this - read all the online help, visited the support forums, called them, visited a local shop and saw an 'expert', called again, called again and was disconnected, submitted a complaint online (typed the whole thing then discovered their online complaint form didn't work - just came up with a random error message), submitted a complaint by actual written letter sent by the actual post with an actual envelope and actual postage stamp with a picture of the actual queen. No reply / acknowledgement yet received in nearly 3 months.
Conclusion: It is impossible to contact anyone at this organisation to resolve a non-standard service problem.
So I wrote to the independent dispute resolution service they are signed up to for help in January. To date, no reply or acknowledgement received from them either, despite the ombudsman website proclaiming a 100% response to written communications within 10 working days.
Looks like this is heading for the lawyers to resolve.0 -
Hi,
I've just gone through this whilst getting a phone upgrade. I previously had a spotify subscription on my last contract however it ran out just before my upgrade date so my account converted to 'Free'.
Today i got my new phone and started the setup, i found that i hit the same problem as everyone else - that my account didnt' change from Free to Premium.
I spoke to live support and at first assumed it was a setup problem or somehow related to using WiFi not mobile data.
Turns out it was my fault!!!!!
When you select the Spotify subscription it goes through a setup and then gives you a confirmed screen - in very small text on that screen it says the Spotify account name it's associated with.
Turns out i had a Facebook account, i also had an account associated with my full email address HOWEVER the one that was connected to the vodafone subscription was a username (shortened version of my email address) so i continued the setup and then attempted to sign into Spotify with this shortened email and hey-presto there's a Spotify Premium account with my name on it!
This is really odd as all the accounts had access to my previous playlists and favourited music - i think this is a Spotify issue not a Vodafone issue. I've now contacted Spotify to cancel these other accounts they have in my name.
Long and short: check the small text in the Vodafone subscription setup to see which account is being connected to your premium subscription.0
