Vodafone Spotify Premium - Not Working
I upgraded my contract with Vodafone in November 2014 and after searching for a good deal I decided to go with the 4G tariff that included Spotify Premium for the term of my contract (24 months).
I was sent the details of how to join Spotify and did so successfully. However, after a few days the Spotify account reverted to the free version and informed me that I would have to pay for Premium.
I contacted Vodafone who told me to re-apply for the Spotify Premium account but this time to make sure that I did not use wi-fi to do so. Tried and failed.
I then searched the Vodafone forums and found many instances of the same problem, with seemingly little success of finding a resolution.
I have since then been backwards and forwards with Vodafone on the phone, via their forums and directly be email and they have still not found a solution. The last I heard the issue was being passed to yet another department and I have heard nothing from them.
As the SPotify Premium offer was the main reason for choosing the tariff ( I live in an area that will not have 4G for some time), is the roughly 5 months of not receiving what was promised sufficient reason to ask for a cancellation for failure by Vodafone to deliver, i.e. can I quit without it costing me?
Thanks

I did not have a Spotify account prior to joining through Vodafone.
As it is you need to cancel the current subscription which is wrong if it's the free one and re apply- Head to https://www.spotify.com/account/subscription/.
- Under Manage your subscription, click View your options.
- Select Click here to continue to the cancellation page.
- Select the cancellation option I am accepting a Premium offer from a Spotify partner.
- Click Cancel subscription.

I don't see View your options, only Payments and Subscription. Under payments it says "you do not currently have a payment provider connected to your account", and under Subscription it says I am on Spotify free and gives the option to Get Premium.

You may need to uninstall the app and the reloadIt's not just about the money0 -
I've tried it on my phone and PC and View your options does not appear on either.
I've re-installed the app on my phone and that just shows up as the free version, not Premium.
I think what you are describing is how to cancel an existing premium subscription which is what would need to be done before activating the Vodafone offer. As I never had a premium subscription, other then very briefly through Vodafone, this won't work and isn't needed.0 -

I need to go out for a couple of hours now but try texting
ENTERTAINMENT to 97613 and getting the link sent again then make sure it's over the Voda network and see what happens maybe pick a different user name this time (perhaps uninstall again before you use the link )It's not just about the money0 -

Thanks again.
What happened was that I signed up through the Vodafone webpage following their instructions. However, they neglected to mention that it needed to be done without using wi-fi. So rather then getting the full Premium account I seem to have the free trial, as you suggest, which then reverted to the free account.
Vodafone told me to go back to the offer webpage and re-subscribe, however, now when I try this the Spotify offer is missing from their webpage (it only shows the other offers, e.g. Netflix, Sky Sports etc.). Vodafone have removed the offers from my account and then added them again but I still have the same problem that the offer does not show on the webpage to allow me to try to subscribe again.
I've been told that it has been passed to their web team but I have not had any communication for a couple of weeks, hence my continuing and escalating frustration with this.0 -
Hi. Im having the same problem (no link to spotify/sky or now tv.) all i get is netflix offer which i dont need. I too got this contract for the added spotify and am not getting anywhere. Been to the shop twice, shop couldnt do anything and called vodafone at least 5 times each time being told 'everything should be ok now, just type ENTERBLOODYTAINMENT' AGAIN! Not happy at all and want to pack vodafone in if not sorted. We are paying for a service that we are not getting. Its not good enough. Are we within our rights to give the phone back and cancel our contract? Or has anyone ever sorted this problem out yet?0
