Part of the Furniture I've been Money Tipped!
Showed their true colours on this one ! Heartless swines !

They could have asked locally if anyone would like to have the cat, then if they had no luck take the cat to an animal shelter.

Hope they don't have an animal in their new home. They don't deserve one.

Absolutely agree, although I think I might have used stronger than swines!!!
  • If they left you a forwarding address or email address take a picture of the cat on their doorstep and send it to them.

My heart stopped when I saw the title of this thread. One of our cats doesn't like us anymore and has adopted one of our neighbours. She will deign to visit on the odd occasion but doesn't stay long. She looks healthy and happy. One of the neighbours came to the door recently to say she thought she was sick. So I went out and found her sunbathing on the doorstop of her new home, brought her home, kept her in, she was fine. As soon as she saw the open window she was away again!

We didn't abandon her, she abandoned us!

We had the opposite problem to this once.

Our cat was very friendly and went to visit all the neighbours every day.

Despite having a tag to say where she lived, one of our neighbours moved away AND TOOK OUR CAT WITH THEM!

It is worth mentioning the possibility that she was re-homed and has simply returned to familiar territory! We had a cat that refused to move house. Ended up staying with the new owner!!!! Best thing you can do is phone the Cats Protection League and explain the 'known facts'. Don't assume she has just been abandoned.

Good point, some friends of ours aquired (sp???) a cat under similar circumstances. Neighbours moved away, taking cat with them, but the cat kept coming 'home' so they agreed to keep her.
Please let us know what happens with this cat, hope she gets a new home asap.

  • thanks everyone:D

I am going to phone the cats protection league helpline tomorow, tbh I am not really a cat person so having her here is not really an option - but am still astounded that they have done this we acutally spoke to them about it and asked what they were going to do with her they said hadnt decided! - they had dogs as well but they were worth money they obviously they sold them before leaving

i will let you know how it goes

Ah. All the cats we've ever had have been strays, feral cats or someone elses cat that has moved in. I'm so glad you are concerned and you shouldn't have to foot the bill for someone elses cast off, so please let the cats protection league know and be kind to it in the mean time.
