This method might be useful in the future when the pound is weaken significantly.

If the pound ever falls in value to below the Euro I doubt too many of us will be planning holidays :eek:

"Is there any other way to avoid currency conversion?"

I have tried this methods multiple times, it seems it will only work if you want both legs are quoted in Sterling (I never has luck with Euros). So in this case it is not very useful as the price in Sterling will always be higher than in Euros due to the way the Ryan Air convertion work (e.g £1 almost equal to 1EUR for a low price ticket)

Have you tried it with the current version of the Ryanair website? The site you linked specifically says that it doesn't work any more.

Just tried it a few times (on Internet Explorer).

I can get it to price a flight originating in London in EUR. However, that price is just a direct conversion of the GBP price.

For example, Stansted -> Dinard: If I look at a Dinard->Stansted->Dinard itinerary, the Stansted -> Dinard leg is priced at €67.99 on March 22nd. However, if I use the "trick" to get a one-way Stansted -> Dinard flight priced in EUR, it comes up as €82.28 on the same date. The price of that flight without the "trick" is £57.99, so it's not even a great exchange rate.

Does anyone have luck to book Ryan Air single flight originated from UK in EURO ??

I have tried including the trick of opening two tabs but have not got any luck ...
But I might have made mistake. Anyone have tried it and manage pay in Euro...???

Ryan air conversion rate on £/EUR is 1 to 1 for small, lower medium transaction.
So the ticket quoted in GBP of £29.99 (say), if you get it in euros it will only be EUR 29.99, so the saving here could be significant for frequent travellers ...

Be careful with this because cookies may affect the flights booked.

Thas is true. I have tried difference browsers e.g firefox, chrome, IE and I have made sure that I delete all of the cookies, browsing history, exactly the same thing I have done when I purchase items through cashback sites (e.g. Quidco, TCB)

The tricks of opening two tabs for return flight is described here.

Also there are quite a few similar posts like this a few years ago but not recent. I have tried it a few times since last year but it seems it does not work. It could be because the trick does not work anymore or I might have made mistake that I was not aware of.

For return ticket I always purchase two seperate individual tickets for Outbound and Indound flight as I will get the ticket price for inbound flight (originated from Euro zone countries) quoted in Euros which is quite often exactly the same figures if it was quoted in GBP. So say the ticket price is £29.99 from DE - UK but if you get quote in Euros as you book asas a seperate ticket, it will be EUR 29.99.

It still works as described in the article. Substitute "Continue" for "Book Now".

I have just gone through the process for a EDI-DUB flight on 16/7/15.

    Price given = £155.03
    Price in Euro = 220.22

Price at todays exchange rate from xe.com = 217 Euro

Avoiding DCC is still possible as well.

When the £ was at its lowest, around 1.08 I think, while in Puerto Banus, I was quoted 98c at a local exchange
