SportKa MOT advisories question - oil leak

If you never swapped details or he didn't tell you he hit you then I wouldn't bother telling the insurers. It wouldn't be worth a claim anyway.
have an oil and filter change, it's probably just seeping outthere, and regularly check oil levels. If not looking too much then don't worry too much.
Don't worry about the rust, see what happens next mot.
Have the rattle looked at, probably just a Bush or something, most old cars have clunks anyway, turn the radio up.
You seem to be overly worrying tbh. Much of what's said You can forget now until next mot0 -

Thanks. Yes I am a worrier lol. But it really is clunky and sounds like something is about to drop off.
My excess is £400 so no won't be worth a claim. I just had this thought that something could be badly wrong as my Fiesta was written off by someone rear-ending it and not at high speed..i drove away at first and it was 20 mins before I realised something was really wrong! So that experience made me think last night that the same could be the case this time, but the Ka is driving perfectly fine, just rattling a lot lol.0 -

OK, thanks. I am definitely worrying too much. I will feel better once the service is done - I realise now how badly I've neglected poor Ka.0

10/10 for the NT letting you know your neglected oil filter was giving up the ghost and starting to leak through it rusting away and similarly alert you to the corrosion creep that you really should attend to now before it develops to something more major. 0/10 for failing to spot a drop link that was just about to fail though.0

Ok thanks Adrian and Colino. Yes also a bit odd that some noise from underneath only started after mot. First creaking then rattling. Is anti roll bar only at rear? Excuse my ignorance of basic mechanics! Just that the nt mentioned 'distorted' front wheel in advisories.
Will take to borough council for next mot. It didn't come out rattling.;)0 -

No, there's actually far more likely to be an ARB on the front than on the rear - but yours probably has both. Will take to borough council for next mot. It didn't come out rattling.;)
The droplink is a short rod connecting the actual anti-roll bar to the suspension arm. It probably has a ball joint at each end, and will definitely have at least a rubber bush. Over the years, they get a hammering, especially if oil gets on them, and fail. The MOT tester tests them by prying them with a lever to see how much movement there is. Too much - it's knackered, fail. If it's clinging by the skin of it's teeth, then that levering may have shortened it's life by - oooh - anything up to at least a dozen miles... <grin>
A "distorted" - ie bent - front wheel will show itself as a shuddering through the steering at speed, like an unbalanced wheel. It'll do various bits of steering and suspension no good, and - if an alloy - it may well be the start of a crack. It's been caused by hitting a kerb at some point, maybe a big pothole. That, again, can do various other damage.0 -
