I'm far from happy!

Where are the £1 movies?
I don't have a EE mobile, but I do have the EETV with broadband and phone line.
No mention on the EE web site.
There is a 50% off deal on Wuaki, but I was waiting for the £1 deal.0 -

The EE website does have instructions:

Thanks.
When I searched for "£1 movies", I got this:
http://film.ee.co.uk/filmstore
Which says:
"The EE Film Store has now closed for rentals and you can no longer rent films from the EE Film Store."0 -
If you’re an Android Tablet customer:
• text film to 141 from your SMS Management Centre on your device (text costs 35p)
If you’re a broadband customer:
• text JOIN and your EE landline number to 88141 to register
• after you receive a confirmation message on your mobile, text film to 88141 for your code (text costs 35p)
Still waiting for the free Android Tablet, so not yet.
Texted JOIN 0208******* to 88141, and got
"Sorry, we can't recognise your landline number. ... Or call us on 0844 8738586"
I just knew it couldn't be that easy.
So near, and yet so far.

So, called 0844 8738586, and got the general greeting "Welcome to the EETV and broadband" and the usual options. 0844 is not cheap, so I hanged up and called on 0800 079 8586 instead.
Got through to somebody who obviously has never heard of Film Club, and he was going to report my case so that "some other department will deal with it". I insisted that he transfer me to Retentions, which actually happened within five rings.
Spoke to a girl, who obviously also never heard of Film Club, but does know that Orange Wednesday has ended. She spoke to a supervisor, and came back with things to try. Just to humour her, I sent more texts to 88141.
1. JOIN must be all in capitals, which I did before, but just to make her happy, did it again.
2. There must be a space between JOIN and the number. Same as what I did before.
3. Try 0208 nnnnnnn, instead of 0208nnnnnnn .
Finally, she gives up, and says she will manually register my mobile number on the Film Club system, which will be active in "a few working days". By that, I assume she means she filled out a form, and someone else will actually do it. Millions of people must register automatically, it's not possible for every case to need manual intervention.
What we have to go through for £1 movies.
I wish I recorded the whole EE process. From December 2014 to now, there must be enough material for a Michael Moore movie.0 -
Thanks.

Alas, not yet.
I need a voucher code to get a £1 movie.
To get a voucher code, I need a registered phone recognised by the Film Club computer.
As you see from posts #16 and #17, the Film Club computer refuses to register me.
Awaiting manual registration through EE customer service.
My request could be on a dead end queue, but if I call up again today, they are just going to tell me to wait a few days.
Still waiting for the free Tablet, otherwise I could try registering using the Tablet.0 -
A pathetic substitute for Orange Wednesdays.
Pippa Dunn, chief marketing officer at EE, says: "blah blah More people than ever before are downloading blah blah"
Orange Wednesdays were fantastically popular where I live. Long queues at the cinema, a lot of people in Pizza Express who were heading off to the cinema afterwards.
No, this is a cost-cutting exercise. Pippa Dunn should be ashamed to be talking about the rise in downloads. People still prefer the cinema experience; it gets you out of the home and means you can socialise before and after.0 -
Yep Pippa Dunn is talking nonsense.
I was working in the cinema industry when the old style VHS / Betamax machines started to come in to the public arena.
At the time it did nearly kill the cinema industry but people did come back to the cinema because they all got fed up watching films at home and wanted the night out experience.
This stupid woman is only trying to boost her business and she is talking Cr**.The more I live, the more I learn.
The more I learn, the more I grow.
The more I grow, the more I see.
The more I see, the more I know.
The more I know, the more I see,
How little I know.!!0
