UPDATE: MPs from all sides of the House are debating the Budget Resolutions and the economic situation. This is expected to continue until 7pm, although today’s debate could conclude earlier.
The debate will continue to be broadcast live on Parliament TV or you can watch from the start.
What happens next?
There will be themed budget debates Thursday, Friday and Monday in the House of Commons Chamber. Timings are approximate as Parliamentary business is subject to change.
The schedule and topic of these debates are as follows:
Thursday 19 March: Business
This debate is expected to start after 11am.
Friday 20 March: Local Growth
This debate is expected to start at 9.30am.

Budget 2015: Thursday
Good morning,
MPs will carry on debating the 2015 Budget in Parliament today. Follow our thread for regular updates.
Today’s Schedule
There is going to be a statement by Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Danny Alexander, on Fiscal Responsibility and Fairness. This is expected to commence around 11 – 11.30am.
Later, the 2015 Budget debates will continue and are expected to be about business. The Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, Ed Balls, will open the continuing debate. MPs will debate Budget Resolutions, moved by the Chancellor, George Osborne. The debate is expected to commence between 12 and 1pm.

Catch Up
MPs debated all remaining stages of the Finance (No.2) Bill 2014-15 yesterday. The Bill completed all its stages and will now go to the House of Lords.

Additional Info: Dissolution of Parliament
Dissolution is the term for the end of a Parliament. Under the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011 a Parliament is dissolved 25 working days before the general election.
Parliament is expected dissolve on Monday 30 March 2015 ahead of the general election Thursday 7 May 2015.
Remember, if you want to vote in the general election, you will need to be on the electoral register. The deadline for registering to vote in time for the election is 20 April 2015. Please see our voter registration thread for more information.
Parliament is expected to prorogue today bringing the current Parliamentary session to a close, ahead of dissolution on Monday.
The date of Parliament’s return will be known when the Monarch issues a royal proclamation summoning the new Parliament. The royal proclamation will be published in the London Gazette.- The London Gazette (external site)
