We're still plodding away. Our MFiT7 aim is 16k by Jan 28 and then we should be MF by mid 2029. Not MF by 50 but hopefully not long after 😉

Today’s the day! Mortgage free in 2025 as I had aimed for. Feels very exciting to see a zero mortgage balance today and to be able to add my post to the mortgage free roll. So chuffed.Looking forward to next month when that payment stays in our account!Keep on going to the others on here…. It’s a fab feeling, every overpayment helps and remember it’s a marathon not a sprint!Mortgage free 04/03/2025. Thanks to this site and lots of overpayments bit by bit.
Next stop: house repairs, holiday fund, replace our very old cars, more financial security/early retirement savings.🤞10 -

Totally different predicament so apologies if it's out of context however I had the funds to pay off my mortgage the past 3 years but my interest rate only 1.64 fixed for 5 years nwhl so I invested the capital at 5.11 and carried on making the mortgage payment which ends at the end of Dec this year. So it's paid off then with a little bit of savings to boot thanks nat west for the low fix.8
