If and when you manage to get your first salary, try to buy a second hand bike - cheaper than buses in the long run.

Your landlord won't be able to kick you out for paying your rent 11 days late (assuming you are otherwise up to date).

I don't really understand why people travel to other countries without a job or savings to tide them over until they can find permanent work. Sorry if this sounds harsh but it would be common sense to me.

When I was young I moved abroad with no job and only £2,000 in the bank. I went because it was exciting and challenging and I was filled to the brim with confidence, optimism and hope. So I completely understand why people do it.

    Good luck OP!;)
  • Your landlord will be understanding about waiting for your payday to get his rent
, I am sure, provided you explain. He will lose more money having void premises for the sake of resetting your rent day. For food, do you live near a real junk food cafe? I saw on TV how you are able to offer services such as washing up, sweeping in return for a cooked free meal. With regard to cash, go and speak to your employer about an advance. This used to be a normal occurrence for new starters trying to get through their first month of work till payday. Best of luck.

In my country the medium wage is 200£.. That's why i wanted to cone here. To earn some money for a university and for my future. I'm 19. What i was supposed to do? To rip off my parents? Like i said before my parents and my fiancee's managed to borrow us 2000£+ to resist here. I want to pay them back, and do something for me. I don't want to go back even if I miss home. But i'm in a desperate situation.. And i need a solution, and i found this forum where maybe i can find advice. The landlord is private, and the contract is on a friend name, so i don't have any power. I can be kicked out of the house anytime.

Do you have a tenancy agreement, what does it say regarding rent being late.

Get the ''friend'' to pay the rent if the tenancy is in his/her name and you pay them back on pay day.

Anyone else think this is a wind up??

Because they often face grinding poverty at home, no prospects, persecution, war, famine or any number of other reasons. Sometimes they just want to improve their prospects.

For most of the last few hundred years people have uptsicked with little more than pennies in their pocket, and a head full of dreams and determination. It usually works out in the long run. The wealth of many of the richest countries in the world (including the UK) was built in large part on mass immigration.
