Constant pain

I've had one GP sit there and tell me that because my MRI scan is normal (for me) there can't possibly be any pain and I'm just imagining it. I was then offered talking therapy.
I've not seen her since!
While I believe your pain is real, talking therapy can help. I went through the same sort of thing, drs blaming pain as being in my head, and when I went to the therapist they actually believed my pain wasn't just in my mind and it actually really helped to have someone to talk to about it. They helped me learn to cope better with the pain as well as all the anxiety and uncertainty that comes with chronic unexplained pain.Faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.0 -
Really????
Care to explain then why it is the case that I have been on MST (got upto 120mg twice daily) and also on Oramorph 20mg every 3 hours at the same time and I had a less than 5% reduction in pain?
I‘ve tried everything that is generally prescribed for pain, plus others including Ketamine, Methadone and Buprenorphine, and as yet I‘m still to find an effective medication that provides me with more than a 5% reduction in pain, or lasts more than a few hours (the minimal relief that the12hr release morphine gave lasted a little over 4 hours only)
The only thing that provides a significant period of relief (not total relief but enough to provide respite an lasts approx 90 mins) is cannabis.
I use it at night when no matter what I‘ve tried I can‘t get to sleep because of the pain.
And what is the main side effect of using Cannabis?0 -

I know that some people sufferring from some illnesses are given a nebuliser to help with managing their condition. I've never seen or read of a case where that nebuliser was given for home use with nitrous oxide for cases other than end of life care for someone with COPD, and then only in very very rare cases.pinkcandyflossprincess wrote: »can you get gas and air on prescription, i had an op the other day and they gave me gas and air, it was great ....im sure it would be better for me than the meds im on. if i could use that to zonk to sleep (pain keeps me awake) then it would surely be worth a try[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

There's one drug that doesn't get mentioned much for pain relief - Piroxicam.
I'm in constant pain and while it doesn't totally get rid of the pain it does make it bearable most of the time.
i just read though that it should be used for 14 days at most - i've been on it every day for four years!0
