OK then. I thought I agreed with you but now I'm not sure!!

You're quoting me out of context. You took a part of my post and quoted that whereas the rest of that post clarified my point. In the first post I stated that I would have no hesitation in doing any viewings because it would work as a weeding out process. In the second post you quoted I clearly stated that I do agree with the assertion time wasting is part of the process. That is not the same as what you stated, which was that one person's timewasting can be simultaneously what the other party views as time wasting.

My moan is about people who are months away from being in a position to buy coming to view. Not to mention people fishing for info when they have no intention of proceeding.

We viewed a house at the end of July 2014 before our house was on the market. Long story, but it was a very *niche market* period house that was perfect for us, a sale had previously fallen through and we felt it was meant to be......

Not only that, but as it was some 150 miles from where we were currently living we wanted to check that the area (as well as the house) was right for us.

Anyway, viewed 31st July, ours went on market 1st Sept (had to finish major reno first, but only did this in order to secure that particular property), we went SSTC 7th Oct, viewed house again 8th Oct and had offer accepted next day. Completed on sale and purchase mid December.

Were we time wasters? I don't think so ;)
