I am moving from Berkshire to Wales and when I went into the agents in wales they asked my position I said not on the market yet but it will sell in a week. They did not take me serious. 2 weeks later I went back told them my house was sold and only took 2 days they did not beleave me so I showed them on rightmove they was shocked!

    Different world around there.

Whenever I see the words, "No timewasters" on an advert, I move swiftly on.

That says everything I need to know about the attitude of the person who placed it.

I'm always tempted to phone them and check exactly what they define as a timewaster...

We were rarely, if ever, asked our position by agents whilst viewing in West Wales during the late noughties. Maybe that was because we usually arranged things via the 'ladies' on the front desk, with viewings by the vendors, or by key if the place was empty.

The only times we met an agent were on block viewings, with elderly and infirm vendors, and two other instances when he agent was, for devious reasons, attending personally in order to put us off!

Yes, a different world, with quite a few vendors who weren't that fussed whether they sold this year or next. Also, many badly described properties with wildly ambitious prices, but it would have been churlish to complain about the waste of good diesel....

    Time wasting, indeed!:rotfl:

When my daughter was selling her house through an estate agent they were bringing people to view who couldnt even afford it so you could still have time wasters with estste agents.

... people who thought they might negotiate an affordable price but who found out your daughter was a timewaster for sticking to a high asking price ... just the other side of the coin.

How do you know the house was overpriced?

It doesn't matter. I am just pointing out how the other side may view the situation. i.e. there is no such think as a timewaster only people with a different perspective on the potential deal.

Surely someone is time wasting here. While I agree with the assertion that this is all part of the process, it is either overpriced or the potential buyer is under bidding/can only proceed at a price that is significantly lower than what they viewed at.
